The highly anticipated seventh season of ‘9-1-1′ is set to start filming in Los Angeles in early 2024. The series offers an immersive look into the lives of Los Angeles’ first responders, who include police officers, paramedics, firefighters, and dispatchers. Praised for its elaborate action sequences and ability to weave significant narratives into its storytelling, the show captivates audiences with its versatility and compelling drama.
Created by the trio of Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear, this television series, which has been airing since January 2018, has garnered immense affection from its audience. Before this venture, the three of them had collaborated on the widely popular TV series ‘American Horror Story.’
Ryan Murphy, a distinguished and influential producer, previously served as the showrunner for the highly acclaimed ‘Glee,’ in which he partnered with Falchuk. Additionally, Ryan’s work extends to ‘Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,’ which generated significant attention, and many other successful projects. Meanwhile, Minear, a renowned producer, director, and writer, has taken on all of these roles in projects like ‘Feud: Bette and Joan,’ ‘Dollhouse,’ and numerous other films and television series.
The series aired its first six seasons on Fox until September 2022. In May 2023, Fox canceled the show, and subsequently, Disney-owned ABC picked up the series for its seventh installment. Four out of six seasons of the series aired in September, however, progress on production was halted by the ongoing strikes led by WGA and SAG-AFTRA. Despite these delays, fans can anticipate the return of the main cast. We can expect Angela Bassett as Athena Grant-Nash, Peter Krause as Captain Bobby Nash, Jennifer Love Hewitt as Maddie Buckley, and Oliver Stark as Evan “Buck” Buckley in the upcoming round.
The previous seasons of the series were shot in various locations throughout Los Angeles and this tradition will continue in the seventh season. Fans can look forward to recognizing familiar places, such as the warehouse building on 4506 Cutter Street in Los Angeles and 818 La Manzanita Street in South Pasadena, which serves as Grant’s home. Additionally, there will be numerous other streets and corners in Los Angeles that Angelenos can have fun identifying. Los Angeles has been a hub for many TV series and movie productions, including Ryan Murphy’s ‘American Horror Story’ and procedural dramas like ‘Justified’ and ‘True Detective.’
While each episode of the series focuses on different emergencies, there are also overarching storylines that develop over the seasons, which fans are eagerly waiting for. One of the highlights for fans will be the wedding of Chimney and Maddie, promising to provide great entertainment. While the specific release date is not yet announced, it is expected to arrive sometime in late 2024 and the anticipation among fans is palpable.
