Abraham Shakespeare’s life took a dramatic turn when he won a $30 million lottery in November 2006. He was a resident of Lakeland, Florida. His time enjoying wealth was short-lived, as he was killed by Dorice “Dee Dee” Moore in April 2009. He left behind two young sons, Moses Shakespeare and Jeremiyah Butler. Following Abraham’s untimely death, Moses’ mother, Antionette Andrews, advocated for her son’s well-being and rightful support. The ABC ’20/20′ episode titled ‘Unlucky Numbers’ delves into Abraham’s relationships with his former partner and his children.
Abraham Shakespeare’s Sons Didn’t Have Much to Their Name When He Passed Away
In 2001, Abraham Shakespeare and Antionette (also reported as Antoinette) Andrews welcomed their son, Moses Shakespeare, into the world. At the time, Abraham lived a modest and ordinary life, working hard to support his family despite limited means. Everything changed on November 15, 2006, when he purchased a winning lottery ticket and secured a $30 million prize. After taxes, he received $17 million and used the money to care for his loved ones and give back to his community. Although his romantic relationship with Antionette had ended, the two remained on good terms, and Moses continued to be an important part of Abraham’s life.

Abraham purchased a $1 million home in Lakeland, Florida, and eventually found love again with Sentorria Butler. She described him as a devoted and affectionate partner who was very excited when he learned she was pregnant. In 2008, their son Jeremiyah Butler was born, but sadly, he didn’t get to spend much time with his father. Authorities believe Abraham was murdered on April 6, 2009, at a property in Plant City owned by Dorice “Dee Dee” Moore, his former business associate. She was arrested months later, in January 2010, and convicted. The loss left both of Abraham’s young sons with an uncertain future, as not much of his wealth was left behind.
Abraham Shakespeare’s Kids and Ex-Partners Prefer to Keep a Low Profile Today
In June 2010, an attorney petitioned for assets such as Dorice Moore’s Corvette, Silverado, and a $1 million home to be returned to his estate. At the time, Sentorria Butler was reportedly struggling financially and searching for a job. The attorney stated that the funds would be used to formalize Abraham’s estate and establish trust funds for his sons—Moses Shakespeare, then 9, and Jeremiyah Butler, just 18 months old. In October 2013, the home was officially taken from Moore and returned to the estate, with plans to sell it for the benefit of Abraham’s children.

Not much had been heard from Abraham’s former partners or his sons until June 2017, when Antionette Andrews won $1 million from a $20 scratch-off in the Florida Lottery’s $5 Million Monopoly game. She admitted she was scared and said the win didn’t feel “real.” Around the same time, it was reported that Abraham had established a $1 million trust fund for Moses to address child support claims, with the money set to be released when Moses turned 18. It appears all of them prefer to stay low-key and out of the public eye.
