Netflix’s ‘Bad Thoughts’ gives a platform to Tom Segura’s most invasive thoughts in the form of sketches that unravel over the course of six episodes. Almost all sketches are independent of each other and are wrapped up in one go, except one. This sketch focuses on a guy named Evan who is disturbed by the etiquette of his co-worker, Cyrus, which leads to animosity between them. Cyrus gets his revenge when he creates a video game called ‘Aliens Fuck Humans,’ which causes a lot of distress to Evan because his likeness is used to create one of the main characters. While the players enjoy the game, it is highly distressing for Evan, which makes one wonder, how far can an office enmity go? SPOILERS AHEAD.

Cyrus’ Video Game on Evan is Entirely Fictional

‘Aliens Fuck Humans’ is a fictional video-game created by Tom Segura, the writer and creator of the show who also plays a major role in every sketch. The purpose of the game is to show how far a person’s obsession with revenge can go, and all over just a piece of cake. The twist regarding the game is revealed in the second episode, following a “to be continued” from the first episode, where Evan deliberately distributes bigger pieces of a colleague’s birthday cake, out of spite for Cyrus, who disturbed him with his sexually explicit poses under the guise of fixing the office’s system.

As punishment for Evan, Cyrus devises a game where the main character, who looks like Evan, is trapped in a post-apocalyptic world where aliens have taken over the world and are having sex with humans. The purpose of the game is for the players, who are aliens, to trick Evan into having sex with them. Thus, Cyrus gets his revenge by forcing Evan into all the sexually explicit situations that Evan had accused Cyrus of during the work meeting. While a lot of video games are known to feature alien-human relationships, which are often an important part of the narrative, ‘Aliens Fuck Humans’ sets itself apart with the fact that the entire mission is for the players to find ways to get the Evan character to have sex with them. And it isn’t just for fun.

Cyrus’ intention is to demean Evan, and it finally happens when the game becomes so popular that people start recognising him publicly and tell him about all the weird ways they had sex with him. Realising what has happened, Evan shows up at Cyrus’ house to confront him, but when the man offers him a 50-50 stake in the next version of the game, he sets aside his anger and is ready to accept the public humiliation, if it means he will have a lot of money. With this, Cyrus tricks him into playing the game and traps him in a virtual reality where he will be humiliated, and there is nowhere for him to escape.
