The shooting of The CW’s sports drama series ‘All American’ season 6 will begin in Los Angeles next month. The network aimed to include the show in its fall lineup this year due to its popularity but the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes caused a delay, which resulted in the postponement of the production of the same.
April Blair, who created the series, heads the writers’ room for the sixth season. The rest of the writers and directors of the upcoming installment are yet to be announced. Blair also executive produces the show, along with Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Nkechi Okoro Carroll, John A. Norris, Jameal Turner, Mike Herro, and David Strauss.
The CW drama has a tradition of concluding its seasons with suspenseful life-or-death moments, and in the fifth season finale, it is Patience who faces the looming threat. Despite minimal interaction with her stalker fan Miko throughout the episode, Patience opens the front door of the Baker house in the final minutes, only to get attacked and stabbed by Miko.
Miko makes a swift escape, leaving Patience to grapple with pulling the knife from her abdomen and collapsing to the floor. The unsettling conclusion left the viewers wondering if the character will survive to see the upcoming sixth season. Adding an extra layer of complexity, it seems that Coop has been on her way to the Baker house at that crucial moment, potentially gearing up to reveal her lingering romantic feelings for Patience.
Anticipate the return of the majority of the main cast members to the sixth season. We most likely will see Daniel Ezra as Spencer James, Bre-Z as Tamia “Coop” Cooper, Greta Onieogou as Layla Keating, Michael Evans Behling as Jordan Baker, Cody Christian as Asher Adams, Chelsea Tavares as Patience, and Karimah Westbrook as Grace James in the upcoming installment. Monet Mazur, Jalyn Hall, and Hunter Clowdus may also feature in the season as Laura Fine-Baker, Dillon James, and JJ Parker respectively.
Los Angeles, the home of Hollywood, also hosted the production of the sports drama’s previous season. Thomas Jefferson High School in the city doubles for South Crenshaw High School in the series. David Fincher’s ‘The Killer,’ Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer,’ and Greta Gerwig’s ‘Barbie’ are some of the acclaimed recent releases shot in the City of Angels.
The CW’s President Brad Schwartz stated that over the past five seasons, ‘All American’ had solidified its position as one of the all-time flagship franchises for the network. He emphasized that the series is not only The CW’s youngest but also the strongest performer while considering all of their platforms. Fans can look forward to the premiere of season 6, originally expected in late June 2024, sometime between July and September 2024.
