Adapted from Andrea Mara’s novel of the same name by Megan Gallagher, the Peacock mystery thriller series ‘All Her Fault‘ follows Marissa Irvine (Sarah Snook), who drops off her son Milo for a playdate, but when the time comes to pick him up, the kid is nowhere to be found. Marissa’s world comes crashing down, and her friends and family rally beside her for support and to find the child. The investigation into the case is headed by Detective McConville (Michael Peña), whose efforts lead to the uncovering of family secrets and reveal that the missing child may be part of a larger plot. Loyalty, trust, and bonds between family and friends are put to the test as interests clash in the bustling cityscape.
All Her Fault Filming Locations
While the narrative of ‘All Her Fault’ is set in the city of Chicago, Illinois, and the surrounding suburbs, apart from the establishing shots, filming primarily took place across the Pacific in Australia. Production was concentrated in the city of Melbourne, and the towns of Red Hill South and Carlsruhe, in the southeastern state of Victoria. Principal photography began in August 2024 and seemingly wrapped up in December of the same year. The production received a warm welcome from the state administration, as VicScreen, the creative and economic screen development agency of the Victorian Government, stated that their Victorian Screen Incentive played a role in the filming location being finalized.

According to the agency, the production created more than 2,000 jobs for Victorian screen industry workers, supported 435 local businesses, and brought more than $70 million directly into the economy. “This star-studded production showcases the skills of our local crews, shares our wonderful locations with the world, and places our state-of-the-art screen technology and facilities in front of the global film and production industry,” said Minister for Creative Industries Colin Brooks. VicScreen CEO Caroline Pitcher thanked actor Sarah Snook and director Kate Dennis, both hailing from the state, for their work, stating, “Their incredible talent contributes to the magnetic force that draws international production investment to our State, providing job opportunities for Victorian screen workers and businesses, and adding vibrancy to Victoria’s cultural character.”
Melbourne, Australia

The majority of the scenes in ‘All Her Fault’ were filmed across various locations in the city of Melbourne, Australia, as well as its suburbs. The capital of the state of Victoria, the vibrant coastal city is a hub of art and culture. From the bustling scityscape with towering highrises to the suburban residential and industrial areas, the show manages to capture it all and transform it to stand in for Chicago. Among the suburbs seen on screen are Saint Kilda East, South Melbourne, and Elwood, all located around the Central Business District of the city. Some of the sequences were also lensed in Williamstown, the first port settlement in Melbourne, which is known for its maritime museums and colonial landmarks.

Being a coastal city, the beach and the adjoining open areas form a stunning backdrop in various scenes. One such location is the Point Ormond Reserve, located at Marine Parade in Elwood. A prominent interior space that served as a set for the show is the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, at 1 Convention Centre Place in South Wharf. Other scenes were captured at the state-of-the-art Dockland Studios, situated at 476 Docklands Drive in Docklands. The complex has six sound stages over an area of nearly 10,000 square meters, alongside sprawling production offices and workshops. Each stage has its own support facilities, including offices, storage, dressing, and make-up rooms.

Speaking of the experience of shooting in Melbourne, actor Sarah Snook stated, “I feel so excited about being able to work in Melbourne again. The industry we have here, across all departments of cast and crew, is world-class.” She went on to praise the “can-do attitude” of the team, noting that she was impressed by the production’s sustainability efforts while working in such a vibrant space. Apart from ‘All Her Fault,’ other shows that have been lensed in Melbourne include ‘The Leftovers,’ ‘The Survivors,’ ‘My Life Is Murder,’ ‘Clickbait,’ ‘The Cry,’ ‘Blue Heelers,’ and more. The city is also seen in the backdrop of films such as ‘Sleeping Dogs,’ ‘The Dry,’ ‘Berlin Syndrome,’ ‘Road Games,’ ‘In Her Skin,’ and ‘Long Weekend,’ among others.
Red Hill South, Australia
The residential town of Red Hill South is located approximately 40 miles south of Melbourne on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, Australia. The lush green open areas provided a scenic location for the filming of ‘All Her Fault,’ as well as the sprawling estate on 29 Callanans Road. The town was the chosen filming destination for shows such as ‘The Big Bang Theory’ and ‘Gardening Australia,’ as well as for short films like ‘Apprev,’ ‘Trunkfuls of Love’ and ‘Vanished.’
Carlsruhe, Australia

Located nearly fifty miles away from Melbourne, the small town of Carlsruhe became the filming destination for some of the road scenes in ‘All Her Fault.’ The Cobb & Co Road, which goes through sprawling residential areas, was captured in the series as one of the more calm and serene areas of the state of Victoria. Being a primarily residential area and not a popular filming destination, the town received a rare on-screen presence with the show.
Chicago, Illinois

With the narrative being set in the Windy City, the production team of ‘All Her Fault’ captured the establishing shots and a few other sequences in Chicago, Illinois, to ground the depiction on screen. The city is one of the country’s prominent filming hubs, boasting state-of-the-art infrastructure, skilled human resources, and the stunning visuals of a thriving lifestyle it offers. The iconic Chicago skyline has been seen in shows such as ‘Chicago P.D.,’ ‘Prison Break,’ ‘Leverage,’ ‘Shining Girls,’ ‘Tiny Pretty Things,’ and movies like ‘The Sixth Sense,’ ‘Now You See Me,’ ‘Primal Fear,’ ‘The Fugitive,’ ‘Wicker Park,’ ‘The Watcher,’ and many more.
