Filming for the 37th season began on May 18, 2024, in Los Angeles, before teams traveled to Hong Kong on May 21; Osaka, Japan, on May 24; Jakarta and Bali, Indonesia, in late May 2024; Dubai, United Arab Emirates on May 30; Bulgaria on June 5; Florence, Italy on June 7; Strasbourg, France on June 8, and Sabrosa, Portugal on June 10. The season concluded on June 14 in Miami of the same year, marking the end of an intense and unpredictable race.

Los Angeles, California

Filming for ‘The Amazing Race 37’ began on May 18, 2024, at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, California. This iconic venue, dedicated to the history of filmmaking, served as the launchpad for the season. Before taking off, teams received their first clue, which sent them racing through the bustling streets of the City of Angels to complete an opening task. These initial challenges typically involve physical endurance, mental agility, or a test of local knowledge. After completing their first task, teams hurried to the airport to catch flights to their first international destination.

Hong Kong

On May 21, 2024, contestants landed in Hong Kong, where they had to navigate the city’s dense urban landscape. Challenges took place at the lively Temple Street Night Market in Jordan, where teams engaged in a food-related challenge, and at Victoria Harbour, a natural harbor separating the Kowloon Peninsula from Hong Kong Island, where they raced against the clock in a task involving traditional junk boats. The episode also showcases the city’s skyline, with contestants making their way through the skyscrapers and bustling streets.

Japan

Filming continued in Japan on May 24, 2024, with challenges spread across Osaka and Kyoto. In Osaka, teams raced through the colorful streets of Dotonbori at 1 Chome Dotonbori, Chuo Ward, searching for a specific neon sign among hundreds. Another challenge took place at Osaka Castle 1-1 Osakajo, Chuo Ward, where contestants had to complete a history-based puzzle. Kyoto provided a more traditional setting, with teams climbing the scenic Fushimi Inari Shrine at 68 Fukakusa Yabunouchicho, Fushimi Ward, while deciphering an intricate clue hidden among the torii gates.

Indonesia

Arriving in Indonesia in late May 2024, contestants tackled tasks in both Jakarta and Bali. The Indonesian leg featured a cultural dance challenge at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah in East Jakarta City, testing the ability of teams to replicate traditional movements. A later challenge in Bali had them trekking through the stunning Tegallalang Rice Terraces at Kabupaten Gianyar where endurance was put to the test in a physically demanding task.

United Arab Emirates

By May 30, 2024, the race reached Dubai, where the competition intensified. A daring challenge took place at the Burj Khalifa 1 Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, where contestants had to rappel down a section of the world’s tallest building. Teams also braved the scorching desert for an extreme off-road racing challenge at the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve at Margham Gate, followed by a spice-identification task at the Dubai Spice Souk at 779W+3H4 – Deira – Al Ras.

Bulgaria

On June 5, 2024, ‘The Amazing Race’ visited Bulgaria for the first time, marking a historic moment for the show. Teams explored Sofia, where a complex location-based puzzle led them to Alexander Nevsky Cathedral at Sofia Center, pl. “Sveti Aleksandar Nevski,” 1000 Sofia. Later, a rugged mountain challenge at Vitosha Mountain tested their endurance and navigation skills.

Italy

Filming in Italy took place on June 7, 2024, in Florence, known for its Renaissance architecture. Later, teams raced through the crowded Ponte Vecchio at 50125 Firenze, where they had to sell handcrafted souvenirs to tourists. France

The race continued in Strasbourg, France, on June 8, 2024, with teams tackling challenges that highlighted the city’s blend of French and German influences. A search-based task in Petite France at Quai de la Bruche required contestants to find a hidden clue among the picturesque half-timbered houses. Another challenge at Strasbourg Cathedral Place at de la Cathédrale was having teams decipher an astronomical puzzle linked to the cathedral’s historic clock.

Portugal

On June 10, 2024, contestants arrived in Portugal, where they raced through Sabrosa. A physically demanding grape-harvesting challenge took place in the breathtaking Douro Valley Vineyards, testing both endurance and precision. Another task at the Casa de Mateus at Mateus, 5000-291 Vila Real, required teams to recall key details from previous legs, putting their memory and teamwork to the test.

Miami, Florida

The race came full circle, concluding in Miami, Florida, on June 14, 2024. The final leg featured cultural immersion tasks in Little Havana, a neighborhood in the Capital of Latin America, where contestants learned Cuban dance and music. A water sports challenge at South Beach at Ocean Drive Miami Beach set the stage for an intense race to the finish line. The winners were finally crowned at the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens at 3251 S Miami Ave, marking the end of an incredible season filled with global adventure and unexpected twists.
