When James “Jamie” Faith was horrifically gunned down right outside his home in the Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas, Texas, on October 9, 2020, it left his loved ones shaken to the core. The truth is, as profiled in NBC’s ‘Dateline: Losing Faith’ and CBS’ ’48 Hours: The Plot to Kill Jamie Faith,’ he was attacked and shot 7 times with a .45 caliber weapon while taking his dog on a morning walk alongside his wife. Thankfully, though, officials were soon able to ascertain that this entire incident was actually orchestrated by the latter and her lover, leaving her daughter, Amber Faith, utterly shattered.
Amber Faith Was a True Member of the Faith Family
It was on October 8, 2005, when Jamie Faith first met Jennifer Lynn on a blind date, unaware they would soon fall head over heels in love despite the fact that they had their fair share of differences. After all, while she was already a twice-divorced single mother with a loving 8-year-old daughter named Amber, he identified as a bachelor for whom serious relationships were never in the cards. In fact, according to one of his lifelong friends, Theresa Jensen, he always used to vehemently assert, “I’m never getting married. I’m never having kids. I don’t want a part of it.”
Yet, everything changed the moment Jamie realized his connection with Jennifer was growing serious because he actually made an effort to not only get to know Amber but also be there for her. What’s even more significant is that he didn’t do so to gain brownie points with his partner but because he genuinely wanted to, resulting in him becoming a true father figure in the young girl’s life. As per the aforementioned show, this Director of Technology at American Airlines even went as far as to attend all her recitals, make her special days extra special, and just be supportive in general.
Therefore, once Amber turned 18 and could legally make her own decisions about her life, Jamie formally adopted her, and she took it one step further by officially taking his last name to signify their bond. In her eyes, he was her dad in every sense of the term, which she even made evident across her social media profiles by openly wishing him and only him on every Father’s Day, as seen above. The youngster even spent the majority of quarantine owing to the COVID-19 pandemic alongside her parents in their Oak Cliff home in Dallas, so she was obviously heartbroken when he passed away.
Amber Faith is Gradually Moving Forward in Her Life
Amber has never publicly spoken up about her feelings concerning her mother’s or her mother’s lover Darrin Lopez’s involvement in her stepfather’s murder, but she has signified that she still misses the latter. In fact, in early July 2021, around three/four months after Jennifer and Darrin’s arrests, she even got a tattoo of Forget-Me-Not flowers right above her heart as a tribute to her dad, Jamie. As if that’s not enough, that same year, she had made another post for Father’s Day, wherein she’d penned, in part, “Today I’m remembering the kind, generous, intelligent person my dad was. His love for me and our family was boundless, and his encouragement was never-ending. I miss you, Dad.”
Amber has also publicly remembered Jamie on his death anniversaries, all the while doing her best to move forward in life because she knows that’s what he would have wanted from her. The American University Bachelor’s of Interdisciplinary Studies and Master’s of Public Policy graduate keeps her dad’s memories alive in her heart, but she has long since settled in Prescott, Arizona, for good.
That’s where Amber serves as mom to 4 fur babies, including her dad’s beloved dog Maggie, and as a Public Relations Specialist at Granite Dells Preservation Foundation. Furthermore, the hobbyist pole dancer, concert aficionado, travel enthusiast, and Green Bay Packers fan is the Director of Finance and Communications at Arizona Native Democrats, a position she has proudly held since November 2024.
We should even mention that Amber is proudly bisexual, and she currently seems to be in a happy, healthy relationship with a man named Joseph Bernard. Together, they have traveled to Utah and even hiked the beautiful Arches National Park. Apart from this, the now 28-year-old has recently traveled to Texas, Washington DC, and California, all the while never missing an opportunity to attend concerts of artists she adores, like Noah Cyrus, Paramore, as well as Lizzo.
