Amna and Hamda Al Qubaisi Have Emirati Roots
Khaled Abdulla Al Qubaisi, father to trailblazing racers Amna and Hamda Al Qubaisi, was born on December 22, 1975, in Abu Dhabi, UAE. After spending his early years in the Emirates, he moved to the US to further his education, earning a bachelor’s degree in finance and operations management from Boston University. He later completed a Master’s in Project Management (MSPM) at George Washington University. Alongside his wife Kaouthar, Khaled welcomed their first daughter, Amna, in Washington, Virginia, in 2000, followed by Hamda in 2002. Around this time, the family began establishing a more permanent presence in the US, and Khaled earned his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2003.
In the early 2010s, Khaled began pursuing his passion for motorsport, achieving notable success in endurance racing. He clinched overall victory in the 2012 and 2013 Dubai 24-Hour races behind the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 and went on to win the Yas Marina 12-Hour Race in 2013. He also competed in the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans three times and secured an impressive 19th-place overall finish in 2014. As his own racing ambitions evolved, he shifted his focus to nurturing the talent of his daughters, Amna and Hamda, and son, Abdulla, who each expressed a keen interest in motorsports.
While the children were primarily raised in the US, Khaled and his wife Kaouthar made a conscious effort to ensure they remained deeply rooted in their Emirati heritage. In fact, both daughters are recognized as Emirati racers. They emphasized the importance of their Islamic faith, Arabic language, and cultural values, creating a strong sense of identity and pride in their ethnic background despite their global upbringing.
Khaled Al Qubaisi and His Wife Are Proud of Their Five Children
Khaled Al Qubaisi’s family has grown over the years. He is now a proud father of five children. While his wife, Kaouthar, maintains a low public profile, she remains a constant presence at their children’s races, always cheering them on with pride. As for Khaled, his professional journey has evolved significantly. He began as Chief Investment Officer at International Capital, then served as Head of Corporate Finance & Business Development at the National Bank of Abu Dhabi. Later, he held the role of Chief Human Capital Officer at Mubadala’s Real Estate & Infrastructure Investments. In 2021, he rose to become CEO of the same division. Over time, Khaled has also led major Mubadala sectors, including Aerospace, Renewables, and ICT, shaping some of the UAE’s key investment areas with his leadership. Today, Khaled stands as one of the most influential Emirati business leaders, holding several prestigious roles across the UAE’s most critical sectors.
He serves as Chairman of the National Central Cooling Company, helping steer the company’s sustainable energy goals. In the world of motorsports and finance, he plays a key leadership role as Vice Chairman and Director of both Abu Dhabi Motor Sports Management and Finance House. His expertise extends further as he holds board positions at high-impact institutions, including Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC), and the Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du). He is also a board member of GlobalFoundries, Mubadala Petroleum, and Insurance House. With deep roots in finance, Khaled remains an active member of the CFA Institute. His current positions reflect not only his experience but also his continued dedication to shaping the UAE’s future in innovation, sustainability, and global enterprise.
The last time Khaled suited up to race was in 2023 when he competed in the Middle East Trophy-GT3 as part of the Abu Dhabi Racing by HRT Bilstein team. Since then, he has shifted gears from personal competition to being fully immersed in guiding the motorsport journeys of his three kids, all of whom are following in his racing footsteps. A firm believer in discipline, values, and faith, he has raised his children with strong principles. He is a devoted family man and a practicing Muslim known for his humility and unwavering moral compass. He has never hesitated to speak out for justice, having publicly voiced his pro-Palestinian stance with courage. As someone who continually evolves with purpose, Khaled is once again on the verge of a new chapter and is excited, driven, and ready to build something meaningful, just as he always has.
