Amy Flora moved to Iowa with her two children to be closer to her family, excited to begin a new chapter. The children’s father, Dave Kroupa, was relocating to nearby Omaha, Nebraska. But the sense of safety she relied on quickly began to fall apart. After Kroupa started receiving threatening and harassing messages, Amy soon became a target as well. The intimidation dragged on for months, and it wasn’t until December 2016 that she learned Liz Golyar had been behind it all. Amy Flora Got Several Threatening Messages From Liz Golyar
Amy Flora and Dave Kroupa first met in 2000 while both were working at a truck stop in Wisconsin. Their connection formed quickly, and Amy later shared that she was charmed by his “dorkiness” when he asked her out. Their relationship grew serious fast. They moved in together, settled into a nice home, and welcomed their daughter, Lexi, followed by their son, Ryan. But as time passed, the strain of conflicting work schedules and daily pressures began to take a toll on their relationship, and things were no longer as harmonious as they once were.
Amy explained that she worked night shifts while Dave worked during the day, and the opposing schedules put further strain on their relationship. They eventually separated, and she moved back to be with her family in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Dave soon followed, so he could remain close to their children, later finding work in Omaha, Nebraska. The two maintained a cooperative co-parenting arrangement, and living near each other made custody and travel easier. In 2012, when Dave met Liz Golyar on a dating site, he wasn’t seeking anything serious. He and Amy were no longer romantically involved, and she wasn’t very aware of the details of his dating life.
In the months that followed, Dave began receiving threatening messages and realized he was being stalked. Fearing for her own safety and that of their children, Amy asked Dave to visit the kids only at her home instead of taking them out. Before long, she too started receiving terrifying messages herself and some even targeted her children. The fear and confusion lasted for years until December 2016, when Liz was finally arrested. She had been impersonating Cari Farver, the woman Dave had briefly dated, and was responsible for her killing. In fact, Liz even alleged that Amy had been targeting and messaging her and had harmed Cari. With her behind bars, Amy felt a long-awaited sense of relief and safety return to her life.

Amy Flora, who completed her schooling at Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa, continues to make her home in the same community. She remains a devoted mother to her children, Lexi and Ryan, and has been their constant source of strength through every challenge they faced.
