In October 2016, famed dentist Lawrence “Larry” Rudolph killed his wife, Bianca Rudolph, with a 12-gauge shotgun during their hunting trip in Zambia’s Kafue National Park. In order to cover up his crime, he claimed that she had accidentally pulled the trigger herself while trying to put the weapon in its case. The truth came to light years later, and it also turned out that his secret girlfriend, Lori Milliron, with whom he had been having an affair for over a decade, was also an accomplice. NBC’s ‘Dateline: Safari Story’ and Hulu’s ‘Trophy Wife: Murder on Safari’ explore the entire case and the investigation that brought two perpetrators to justice.
Initially, Larry and Bianca’s children, AnaBianca and Julian Rudolph, fully supported their father and believed he was innocent. When he requested to be released from custody awaiting trial, they even vouched for him in sworn affidavits, claiming to know him better than anyone else, but to no avail. However, when they were exposed to the incriminating evidence against him during his trial, their stance changed drastically.
