And Just Like That Season 3 Episode 6 Recap: Silent Mode

In the ‘Sex and The City’ revival show ‘And Just Like That,’ fans get to dive back into the riveting lives of Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda, and their friends this time as they navigate the temperamental New York City in their 50s. Season 3 finds Carrie revisiting an old love that never got the chance to bloom. However, Aidan’s responsibilities as a father to a troublemaking teenager keep him away from the city, adding a layer of complication to the duo’s relationship. By episode 6, the couple inevitably encounter a setback that threatens to make or break their future together. Meanwhile, Lisa, Charlotte’s filmmaker friend, faces an impossible situation as she loses one of the most important people in her life. Consequently, this leaves a particular mark on the latter, who remains worried about her husband’s condition. Thus, it seems that the twists and turns of life continue to carry these women forward. Carrie and Aidan Hit a Snag in Their Relationship

Aidan’s return to Carrie’s life offered the pair a second chance at their unfinished romance. However, in his 50s, the furniture designer has acquired many responsibilities that simply cannot take a backseat. His teenage sons need him around, at least until they can grow into their own and leave for college. For the same reason, he had to return to Virginia, putting a five-year-long pin in his relationship with Carrie. However, even after his departure from the city, the couple continues to stay in touch, developing something of a long-distance relationship. Phone calls, text messages, and small visits keep their love alive and glowing. Therefore, when Aidan gets a chance to have a week off to himself, he’s eager to join his partner in her New York City townhouse.

Nonetheless, upon his arrival, Aidan’s attempted romantic gesture of pebbles on the front door ends up resulting in disaster as one of the rocks shatters a window pane. Although he remains incredibly apologetic about the incident, there’s nothing he can do to offer an unrecognizable fix. The windows, like the rest of the house, derive their charm from their antique status. Still, he insists on finding a solution that ends up costing him and Carrie hours of borrowed romantic time together. Eventually, one failed road trip later, once he’s finally willing to accept defeat, the truth about his polarizing emotions comes out. Aidan has been stressing so much about the window because he has had a particularly unpleasant week, as some of the progress he made with his son, Wyatt, inevitably unraveled.

After the teenager suggested a week away at a wilderness program, he got cold feet at the last moment. Even so, his parents forced him to board his plane and see his plans through. The following drive back home proved to be taxing for Aidan and his ex, Kathy. However, with the emotions running high, the two ended up sleeping together and seeking comfort from one another. Even though it was a one-time mistake, Aidan feels awful about betraying Carrie’s trust. Yet, surprisingly enough, this isn’t the complication the couple faces. Despite everything, Carrie can understand Aidan’s situation, largely because she wasn’t under the impression that he was in a commitment with her. Thus, the pair realizes they have been looking at their relationship differently all this time. Fortunately, they end up on the same page, concluding that both of them ultimately want the other’s partnership in their lives.

Miranda Finds Her Ideal Apartment

For some time now, Miranda has been struggling with her living situation, bouncing between Airbnb’s and other accommodations. However, she has finally come to the conclusion that she needs to find a place of her own. Lucky for her, Carrie has the best real estate agent, Seema Patel, on her speed dial. The latter has recently quit her position at the esteemed agency to strike out on her own. Nonetheless, this has been proving more difficult than imagined. In turn, Miranda’s specific case doesn’t help the matter. Still, Seema manages to find the perfect place for her friend/client. Yet, the only way to secure the property is through bidding over the asking price. Unsurprisingly, the latter is firmly against this practice on principle.

For the same reason, Seema ends up having to look for another place that meets the other woman’s hyper-specific conditions. Eventually, the real estate agent is able to find a condo that could be the house of Miranda’s dreams. Yet, one complication remains: the place is strictly pet-free. While she herself doesn’t have any pets, the lawyer has recently started dating her colleague, Joy, who has two beloved dogs, Socrates and Sapho. Although their relationship is still new, the spark between them seems promising, especially in the wake of a successful meeting between her son, Brady, and Joy. Therefore, Miranda is reluctant to do anything to jeopardize what could be the start of something great. As such, she eventually comes around to the apartment, willing to bend her principles just once for love.

Lisa Suffers Through a Great Loss

As Lisa works on her latest project as a filmmaker, she remains deeply entangled in her work. It also doesn’t help that she has developed a slight crush on her editor, Marion. As such, during one of their editing sessions, she ends up doing the unthinkable and puts her phone on silent to dodge unnecessary calls. However, she ends up missing out on perhaps one of the most important phone calls of her life. As a visit to the studio from her husband, Herbert, reveals, Lisa’s father, Lawrence Todd, experienced a stroke earlier in the day and passed away. Consequently, by the time the filmmaker is able to make it to the hospital, it’s already too late. The matter is further complicated when Lucille Highwater, the failed actress who managed her father’s theater, decides to take the lead on Lawrence’s funeral ceremonies.

As a result, Lisa finds herself confronting Lucille about the debacle. Although both women remain fairly hostile toward each other, they agree on their shared love for Lawrence. Consequently, the daughter ends up agreeing to allow her father’s close friend to arrange the funeral proceedings. Ultimately, the event ends up drastically different than what she could’ve ever imagined. Still, it seems exactly like something her theatrical father would have wanted. Meanwhile, as Charlotte offers a supportive shoulder to her during this trying time, it ends up taking an emotional toll on her as well. Harry, her husband, has recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Therefore, between trying not to dwell on the darker outcomes of his upcoming surgery and keeping his condition a secret from their friends, Charlotte has been well and truly stretched too thin. Fortunately, a fateful run-in with Carrie at the pharmacy compels her to spill her guts, allowing her a moment of unbridled support from her long-term friend.
