Pizzo made his directorial debut with ‘My All-American,’ a biographical sports drama based on the life of college football player Freddie Steinmark, a University of Texas Longhorns star. The film stars Finn Wittrock, Sarah Bolger, Aaron Eckhart, and Robin Tunney. His writing credits include the biopic ‘The Hill,’ starring Dennis Quaid as Pastor James Hill and Colin Ford as Rickey Hill, who overcomes severe challenges and limitations to prove his worth before a legendary major league scout. He also wrote the story of the boxing drama ‘Bleed for This,’ which follows Vinny Pazienza (Miles Teller), who returns to the ring after a near-death experience.

Pizzo’s love for sports dramas is evident in the 2005 film ‘The Game of Their Lives,’ which chronicles the 1950 U.S. soccer team’s heroic efforts to beat England. Wes Bentley of ‘Yellowstone’ and Gerard Butler headline the movie. His filmography also includes the coming-of-age drama ‘Rudy,’ in which Daniel E. “Rudy” Ruettiger sets out to prove his critics wrong by playing college football for Notre Dame.

Bloomington, Indiana, served as the filming location for Paul Shoulberg’s romantic comedy ‘The Good Catholic,’ ‘Ms. White Light,’ Aneil Karia’s psychological thriller ‘Surge,’ and Andrew Paul Davis’s drama ‘Palace.’
