Netflix’s ‘Love Is Blind: Sweden’ consistently offers a fresh perspective on relationships. Each group of contestants enters the experiment hoping to discover genuine connections, and every season brings something new to the table. In season 3, Aniela Eklund and Ibrahim Gergi began their love story in the pods just like everyone else. What made them stand out, however, was the natural ease and comfort between them. From the beginning, they felt they were right for each other, and they held on to that feeling as they explored a connection they hoped could last a lifetime.
Aniela and Ibrahim Made Adjustments For Their Relationship
Aniela Eklund and Ibrahim Gergi both entered the experiment with an optimistic outlook, but when they began talking to each other, they immediately felt a sense of comfort and ease. As they continued their discussions, they discovered shared interests, including a love for carpentry and doing hands-on work around the house. Aniela was particularly drawn to the fact that Ibrahim worked as a surgeon while also coming across as someone practical and handy. After just a few conversations, he realized that Aniela was the woman he wanted to pursue seriously. However, the process was not easy for him, as seeing her speak with other contestants and go on dates made him anxious. 
At one point, while listening to music, he heard the name “Annie,” which was Aniela’s nickname, and took it as a sign. He shared the song with her through his headphones, and she found the gesture incredibly sweet. Soon after, Aniela told him that he was her top choice and later confided in her friends that she had made up her mind about him. The two also discussed practical aspects of their future, including where they might live. Ibrahim reassured her by saying he would be open to moving to Stockholm if needed, which made Aniela feel more secure about their future together. Wanting to express her feelings, she even wrote and sang a song for him in the pods. By the time she finished, Ibrahim was visibly emotional. Convinced that she was the one, he got down on one knee and proposed, and she happily accepted.
When they finally met in person, their connection felt just as genuine as it had in the pods. During their trip to Corfu, they grew even closer and began to imagine what life together as a couple might truly look like. But things were not as easy as they had imagined them to be. When he felt that he was being heard and seen more in the pods. Aniela assured him that it was because conversation was the sole point of contact, and in person, it was much more. While Ibrahim loved Aniela’s house, he had a few apprehensions. After speaking to one of his colleagues, he came and told her that the prospect of leaving his job did make him anxious, and he did not know if he would want to move. This was a total shock for Aniela. As time passed, they were able to find an answer and found out that for each other, their relationship was of utmost importance. While Ibrahim had his doubts about how he would manage his work, on the wedding day, all that mattered was Aniela and they became husband and wife.
Aniela and Ibrahim Are Expecting a Baby Together
Aniela and Ibrahim made up their minds about each other while still in the pods. To further support that connection, when they finally met in real life, they were both clearly taken with one another, and there were none of the troubles that couples sometimes face at that stage. Their quick banter, playful teasing, and even simple moments like lying in each other’s arms while watching the sunset seemed to come naturally to them. The biggest question they faced was Ibrahim’s relocation. The couple did make a long-distance marriage work for a few months, but then, by late 2025, Ibrahim moved to Stockholm, Sweden, to be with his wife. By then, they had learned that they were expecting a baby girl together. They have since shared that they are currently working to create more space in their apartment, but are also considering the possibility of moving houses. That’s because their present home is rather small, as he had just moved into his wife’s place, and they might not have enough space when their baby arrives. Their little one’s due date is towards the end of May 2026, and they are excited about this new, shared chapter in their lives.

Aniela Eklund is musically inclined and has built a career in the music industry as the Head of A&R at Oertone Studios. She joined the company as an Artist Project Manager in March 2023. Ibrahim Gergi has built a respected career in medicine and currently works as a urologic surgeon at Capio Urosurgical Center in Stockholm County, Sweden. Alongside this role, he has also been working as a medical doctor with Region Jönköping County for several years. Ibrahim completed his medical education at Linköping University, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree. Through his dedication and years of training, he has established himself in the medical field while continuing to grow professionally in his work as a surgeon.
