Anne Émond has locked in her next feature! Moviedelic can reveal that the director will helm ‘Peak Everything’ next. The movie will start filming in Sudbury, Ontario, on October 19. Émond also wrote the screenplay. The project’s cast is currently under wraps.
The film is described as a bilingual romantic comedy that centers on Adam, a modest kennel owner overwhelmed by anxiety and a sense of hopelessness due to the growing climate crisis. His mundane life takes an unexpected turn when he speaks with Tina, a customer service representative of a company that sells light therapy lamps. Adam is immediately captivated by her, and his feelings quickly evolve into a deep affection. As a natural disaster threatens their world, he embarks on a daring quest to find Tina.
Émond’s most recent work is ‘Lucy Grizzli Sophie,’ a thriller about a woman who escapes city life in search of solace at a rural bed and breakfast. The filmmaker also helmed ‘Young Juliette,’ which portrays the life of a high school sophomore named Juliette. The protagonist navigates adolescence’s challenges while dealing with her peers’ ridicule and her insecurities about her weight.
Another notable project Émond directed is ‘Nelly,’ a film inspired by the life of Nelly Arcan, a sex worker who rose to international literary fame but struggled with conflicting identities, ultimately leading to her tragic demise. The director’s credits include ‘Our Loved Ones,’ which narrates the story of an artisan trying to raise his spirited daughter following his father’s death. Émond made her feature directorial debut with ‘Night #1,’ which begins with a one-night stand that evolves into a deep and wide-ranging conversation between a Québécoise woman and an immigrant, touching on countless subjects and revealing their complex inner worlds.
Sudbury is a significant location for various television shows and films, including Hulu’s ‘Shoresy’ and ‘Letterkenny.’ In addition to these projects, the city has hosted the filming of ‘North of Normal,’ ‘Fitting In,’ and ‘The New Romantic.’
