Barracuda Queens Season 2 Recap

Ever since their last close-call, the Barracuda Queens of Stockholm seem to have hung up their robber masks. However, a handful of years later, once Lollo finishes her studies and returns home, she realizes that they’ve truly blown through all the money they made from their old break-ins. Mia, the only working-class member of the gang, is nowhere closer to moving out of her parents’ house, and neither are the Rapp sisters, Frida and Klara. Although Amina has a place of her own, thanks to her thankless job at the Thiel Art Gallery, it’s a quaint little thing. Thus, when Lollo finds an apartment in a great neighbourhood with five bedrooms and a down payment to match, her idea of pulling off another heist is met with relative enthusiasm.

As such, a plan is formed to target Amina’s place of work and steal one of the prized paintings from under her insufferable boss, Siv’s nose. In order to do so, she and Lollo first steal a stranger’s car to use as an untraceable getaway vehicle. When the time of the heist comes, the latter deviates slightly from the plan and ends up making a run for several other paintings. Even so, the girls are able to escape in the nick of time. However, in the aftermath, they realize that they’re plan to sell the stolen items back to the insurance company is flawed since Siv never got the paintings insured. Furthermore, Lollo fatefully ends up crossing paths once again with Jesper, the oblivious guy whose car they had stolen the day before.

Fortunately, Lollo is able to come up with a plan that might just work. She decides to reach out to Andre once again to set up a sale for the coveted Zorn paintings. Even though the guy is extremely shifty and even responsible for assaulting Frida, he comes through with the sale. As a result, the girls are able to get their apartment and start their lives anew. Yet, a different trouble hangs on the horizon when Siv hires Paul, a PI, who becomes inordinately suspicious of Amina and her friends. Still, Lollo remains largely unbothered even after she learns that the police have found a strand of hair in Jesper’s car that might belong to the perpetrators.

In fact, Lollo even pitches the idea of enacting another heist, this time to steal a Rembrandt painting from the National Museum. This sends the girls’ lives into a whole new brand of chaos, especially once they actually manage to steal the Rembrandt by some twist of fate. Shortly afterward, a group of armed robbers targets the group and even manages to kidnap Lollo at one point. Additionally, when they try to go over Andre’s head and directly contact the buyer, the former exacts revenge on them by outright stealing the painting from them. Nevertheless, Amina and the others refuse to take their loss by lying down and refusing to give up. Yet, while they remain preoccupied with the high-profile heist, the original Zorn painting threatens to spell out their doom as the cops get closer to identifying the trace found in Jesper’s car.

Barracuda Queens Season 2 Ending: Is Lollo’s Hair Found in Jesper’s Car?

Lollo comes up with the idea to steal a random car for the Thiel Gallery heist so that the getaway vehicle can’t be traced back to her and her friends. In order to steal the car, she first finds a mark at a local dive and steals his keys before Amina drives away in his BMW. As a result, the owner, Jesper, never suspects Lollo even after the police take the car into custody in relation to the art heist. Yet, all of this threatens to be for nothing when the cops uncover a trace in the car, a single strand of hair, that they suspect must belong to the robber. As a result, all five girls run the risk of being linked to the theft.

Still, this reality doesn’t deter them from running another job, this time with a world-renowned Rembrandt. Similarly, it also doesn’t dissuade Lollo from pursuing a romantic relationship with Jesper. She even begins considering his proposition for a getaway trip to Bora Bora, steadily on her way to falling in love with the charming man. Eventually, the dust settles on the Rembrandt debacle, and the girls find themselves 10 million kronor richer. However, in the aftermath, the aftershocks of the Thiel heist finally catch up to them. As it turns out, the police have finally found an ID match for the hair. Yet, it doesn’t belong to Lolla or any of her partners in crime. Instead, it’s discovered to be the hair of Jesper’s apparent wife.

Thus, the revelation arrives that the seemingly perfect Jesper is actually not that honest and has been stringing Lollo around despite being a married man. Unfortunately for him, he’s picked the wrong group of girls to mess with. In light of his infidelity, Amina and the others come up with a plan to get back at him. Lollo meets up with the man at their favorite bar, where she uses her butter fingers to steal the trip agenda and plane tickets from his bag. Afterward, she drugs his drinks and takes her exit. As a result, the next morning, when a hungover Jesper arrives late at the airport with his wife and three huffy kids, his seats have already been claimed by five other women, including his ex-fling.

Where is the Rembrandt Painting? What Happens to Andre?

Securing the Rembrandt painting takes the girls on increasingly wild journeys. Initially, an actual armed robbery at the National Museum gives Lollo the perfect cover to run off with the multi-million-dollar piece. However, afterward, the same robbers kidnap her and attempt to demand an exchange for the painting. Luck strikes yet again when a perfectly timed police raid allows her to get away with her life as well as the Rembrandt. Nonetheless, the rocky ride isn’t over just yet. The girls are planning on making the deal with the buyer, Manolo Da Silva, on their own without involving Andre. They even get their hands on his contact information thanks to Amina’s job at the high-profile gallery. However, they make the mistake of donning Andre’s fake identity when they contact Manolo.

As a result, Andre inevitably finds out about their attempted deal and manages to steal the Rembrandt from them. Nonetheless, after everything they had gone through to get the painting, they’re unwilling to let him walk away with it. Thus, Lolllo comes up with a plan to spy on him with her ex-boyfriend, Tobbie’s car, which can tap into mobile phone frequencies. This brings them to the exact hotel where he has set up the meeting with the art dealer. From there, Klara steps in as the distraction, who manages to get Andre to let his guard down long enough for the five of them to get the drop on him.

The girls gag and tie him up, depositing him in a different room while Amina carries out the hand-off with Manolo by pretending to be Andre’s assistant. Meanwhile, Frida gets to take his revenge on her abuser. Ultimately, the girls get their money, all 10 million of it in cash, and Andre is left half-bald, awaiting someone to find him in the hotel room to free him from his bindings. However, that’s not all—Lollo and the others plant one last piece of revenge for him. After Amina completes the hand-off with Manolo, Mia, disguised as a housekeeper, intercepts his exit in the last minute.

During the following moment of disruption, Mia swipes out his package containing the Rembrandt with a fake. Afterward, they stash this painting in the trunk of Andre’s car. Later, when he indignantly drives away from the hotel, Lollo calls in a tip about the make and model of his car to alert the authorities. Consequently, he eventually gets pulled over by the cops, who search his vehicle and find the infamous stolen artwork inside. Thus, the girls get to walk away with the money while tarnishing Andre’s reputation and putting him away for good.

Are The Girls Caught For the Thiel Gallery Heist?

In the end, Amina and the others are able to frame Andre for the Rembrandt heist, effectively wiping their hands off the intense situation with a lucrative profit to show for themselves. Therefore, all that’s left to do is tie up the loose threads from the Thiel Gallery heist. They have already gotten rid of the extra painting Lollo snatched at the last second by torching it in a garden fire. As for the Zorn piece, Andre helps them sell it to Manolo for a million kronor. Nonetheless, Paul, the PI, continues to stay on the girls’ case since Amina is his prime suspect. Consequently, the latter realizes that the only way to get rid of the detective is to throw him a bone about the case.

Throughout his investigation, Paul insists he cares more about retrieving the paintings than catching the thief. For the same reason, he offers Amina a way to tip him off about any clue without suffering from any consequences. Ultimately, she decides to make use of his offer and sets up a meeting with him. At the meeting, she discloses to Paul that she has insider news about how Manolo, the well-known art dealer, is in possession of the Zorn painting. As per his promise, the PI doesn’t mention her name to Siv and simply goes after Manolo. As a result, with the Zorn retrieved from the dealer’s place, the case is effectively closed with Lollo and the others walking away scotch-free.

Do Amina and Calle Get Back Together?

In the previous season, Amina and Calle had a whirlwind romance that unfortunately never went anywhere. The two began seeing each other behind everyone else’s backs to keep their relationship a secret from Lollo, Calle’s sister. Eventually, this invisible love came to an inevitable end, and the two maintained their distance from each other for a few years. Nonetheless, once Lollo returns from Paris, the pair naturally end up crossing paths with each other more often. As it turns out, the air of attraction between them has remained alive even during their breakup.

Furthermore, the fact that Calle is in a new relationship with a woman named Sofia also doesn’t seem to keep the two away from each other. Eventually, a drink turns into a kiss, which threatens to turn into something more. However, the same night, Amina gets called away by Klara and the others, who have managed to get stranded in the middle of the woods without a ride back home. Therefore, she ends up having to ditch her ex-boyfriend, which he sees as a sign of her inability to be serious about their possible future together. In the end, Calle walks away from Amina, unwilling to rekindle their romance for fear that he will once again be left high and dry. Moreover, he even gets engaged with Sofia, almost as if to show that he is truly choosing to get over the other woman.

Does Klara Accept Niklas’ Proposal?

In season 2, Amina isn’t the only one who falls back into a known romance of the past. Niklas, who moved to the States for his education, is back in Stockholm, which means it’s only a matter of time before he falls back into his ex-girlfriend’s orbit. The duo’s relationship hadn’t worked out previously because he had too many unrealistic expectations of molding Klara into a perfect, obedient girlfriend who would prioritize him and his life above everything else. However, in the years that have passed, he has begun to realize the error of his ways. As such, he can’t help but want Klara back.

Fortunately for him, the latter also seems to harbor some lingering feelings for him. Therefore, the couple eventually ends up back together. What starts as a casual hookup becomes more, until Niklas finally pops the big question. It’s no surprise that he has always wanted to build a life and a family with Klara. Now that he has actually seemed to change his controlling, toxic ways, she has fewer reservations about accepting the same future for herself. Ultimately, though Klara takes some time with it, she comes to a decision and accepts her boyfriend’s proposal.
