‘Barracuda Queens’ season 2 continues the lucky streak for Lollo, Mia, Klara, Frida, and Amina, as they once again manage to walk away from a string of robberies with their pockets full and records clean. Their most recent job makes them millions with the sale of an actual Rembrandt painting and some vengeful pickpocketing of an ex, setting them up for a relaxing vacation in Bora Bora. The same, paired with their luxurious five-bedroom apartment and Andre’s arrest, makes for an effective transition into the next chapter of these women’s lives. Consequently, despite the lack of an official renewal, fans will inevitably become speculative about where a new potential season can take the chaotic partners in crime. Even though there isn’t an official date for a season 3 yet, it might come out sometime around late 2026 to early 2027, given Netflix greenlights the show for a renewal in the coming months.
Barracuda Queens Season 3 Will Likely See the Girls Taking on New Heisting Jobs
‘Barracuda Queens’ is partially based on the real-life story of the Lidingöligan, a Swedish gang that carried out high-profile burglaries, primarily in the 90s. The all-male group was active for a few years before they were caught for their crimes. In those years, they managed to successfully pull off several heists, ranging from jewelry and antiques to expensive artwork and more. Although the show diverges from reality in many aspects, least of all its genderbent version of the titular Barracuda Queens group, a level of connections inevitably remains between the off-screen reality and on-screen story. For instance, Lollo and her friends’ decision to go after an Anders Zorn work is reflective of a real theft made by Lidingöligan.
Therefore, it’s possible that in a new season, the show will continue to take tidbits of inspiration from the source material in some way or another. As we leave things off in season 2, it seems evident that Lollo and her friends have plans to continue stealing for their own financial benefit. Consequently, similar to how the girls transitioned to art theft in this season, a potential future installment could see them moving on to different targets. Notably, Marc Chagall and Pablo Picasso signed lithographs, infamous items stolen by the real-life Lidingöligan, could make an appearance in their storylines. Inversely, as their criminal ventures grow, the people investigating their case are also bound to grow in size, bringing increased trouble their way.
Season 3 Can Focus on the Developments in the Love Life of the Barracuda Queens
Apart from an expansion upon Lollo and her friends’ criminal ventures, a potential season 3 can also delve deeper into the gang’s romantic sub-plots. So far, Lollo has been particularly unlucky in love, especially after discovering that her newest beau, Jesper, was hiding the fact that he was married and a father of two during the entirety of their relationship. On the other hand, she also has a habit of falling back into bed with her ex-boyfriend, Tobbie. Therefore, if we follow her story in the future, it would be exciting to see where romance takes her next, whether it be toward another red flag or a stable relationship.
On the other hand, Klara’s recent engagement with Niklas is also bound to unravel in interesting ways. Despite their dubious track record, the couple actually seems to be heading toward a happy ending. However, whether or not their relationship is strong enough to survive the truth about Klara’s illegal hobbies remains to be seen. As such, between a wedding and another break-up, the pair has an engrossing future ahead of them. Similarly, Amina’s crash and burn attempt to rekindle things with Calle could also pan out in a potential new season, especially in light of the latter’s recent engagement. Overall, even with their heisting jobs aside, there’s plenty to explore in the lives of the Stockholm-based group as they step into their lives as young adults.
Barracuda Queens Season 3 Will Likely Retain the Same Cast With a Few Tweaks
The central cast of ‘Barracuda Queens’ offers the most appealing aspect of the show. The chemistry between actors Alva Bratt, Tindra Monsen, Sarah Gustafsson, Tea Stjärne, and Sandra Zubovic feeds into the instrumental dynamic between their characters. Therefore, fans can rest assured that the central cast will return for season 3 in the event of a renewal. Furthermore, now that the five women are living together under the same roof, they’re bound to get closer than ever.
Additionally, characters like Margareta (Izabella Scorupco), Lollo’s mother, and Niklas (Hannes Alin), Klara’s fiancé (Hannes Alin), will likely also reprise their roles. In the same vein, we can also expect Calle, Lollo’s brother and Amina’s primary love interest, to remain in the story. A continuation of his narrative will include his engagement with Vera Olin’s character, Sofia, adding her to the list of additional castmates to look out for. Alternatively, characters like Tobbie and Jesper, who have a more unstable relationship with the primary characters, have a more uncertain future with the show. As such, between their possible departures and introductions of new characters and possible love interests, season 3 will likely sport a few exits and a couple of new faces.
