For years, TLC’s reality series ‘Unexpected’ has offered viewers an unfiltered look into the lives of teenage parents navigating adulthood far sooner than planned. It follows young couples as they deal with pregnancy, strained family dynamics, and financial uncertainty. In season 7, Bella Vaughn and Hunter Johnson were introduced as one of the youngest couples ever on the series. Their story immediately stood out because Hunter was just 12 and Bella was 14 when they found out they were expecting a baby. The news completely shocked their families, sparking difficult conversations about what the future holds for them. Yet, amid the initial turmoil, both teens also found unexpected support.
Bella and Hunter Leaned on Each Other as Pressure Mounted at Home
When Bella Vaughn and Hunter Johnson found out that they were expecting a baby, their adolescent romance soon took a life-altering turn. By the time they appeared on the show, they were already 13 and 15 years old. As they told their families about the same, their age quickly fueled concern, and the emotions ran high. In his confessional, Hunter revealed that his father bluntly told him that he had “ruined” his life. Although he brushed it off, saying he didn’t feel he made a mistake, Bella felt that, even if the 13-year-old didn’t show it, his father’s words upset him. Meanwhile, her mother struggled with the heartbreak of her own. Since Hunter was in eighth grade, Bella’s mother expressed her concern, adding that she didn’t want the child to hold Hunter back.
On the other hand, Bella’s father felt that her pregnancy was a result of her bailing on her sex education class. At one point, Hunter’s family suggested abortion, which made Bella decide that she wouldn’t keep her child shielded from his family. Medical concerns added another layer of stress when doctors suggested that a C-section might be a safe option for Bella, but it made her mother visibly upset. During one of her confessionals, the 15-year-old also opened up about her concerns, wondering what would happen if Hunter failed a grade. However, she emphasized that it wasn’t an option because he already had a baby on the way. Despite the turmoil in their lives, Bella and Hunter remained each other’s safe space and a major source of support.
Bella and Hunter Appear to be Navigating Parenthood Side by Side
Although Bella and Hunter were forced to grow up far too quickly, something shifted when their fear turned into excitement as they got ready to welcome their baby boy. Ultimately, on March 20, 2025, their world changed forever when they gave birth to their son, Wesley Kristopher, AKA Wes. Throughout their relationship, Bella and Hunter had already been documenting their journey on TikTok, and becoming parents further strengthened their honesty. They currently continue to post updates, offering their followers an unfiltered look into their journey as a young mom and dad. In April 2025, Bella shared a touching picture of Hunter feeding their son, followed by another candid shot of him with Wes sleeping on him. She also creates videos showing how she and her son spend their day together.
From playing in the snow with Wes to simply embracing parenthood with open arms, Hunter and Bella show that age doesn’t define commitment. As of writing, the couple appears to be still together, basking in their love for one another. Both of them currently feature photos of themselves together as their profile picture on their TikTok handles. In November 2025, Hunter shared a picture with Bella, along with a heartwarming message, writing, “I’m not a smart man… but I know what love is.” Most recently, in February 2026, he shared another picture of Bella, expressing his love for her. Similarly, Bella also never misses an opportunity to showcase her love for him by keeping his name in her social media handle bio. All of these signs indicate that the pair is now focused on caring for their son as a team.
Bella and Hunter Have Focused on Expanding Their Social Media Presence
By the time Bella appeared on the show, she was 15 years old, which makes her 16 this year. It suggests that she may have been preparing to enter high school or has already started. Instead of letting the challenges of her life define her limits, she has chosen to embrace the new chapter with determination and resilience. Since the birth of her beloved son, Wes, she has devoted most of her time to motherhood, feeding, playing, and cherishing every memory she shares with him. Yet, in between, she shares glimpses of her personal life on social media, especially TikTok and Instagram. On the former handle, Bella has garnered a large fanbase of over 71.7K followers. Similarly, her Instagram follower count is steadily rising, helping her build a community of 3.9K.
Through everything, Bella receives immense love and affection from her mother, Falen, and her father, who are like rocks in her life. Just like her partner, Hunter is also growing his presence on TikTok, where he now has over 9.2K followers. Besides that, he is focused on school life and is a member of his school’s basketball team. Furthermore, Hunter is a talented baseball player and is quite passionate about the sport. As a fitness enthusiast, he now regularly attends the gym and maintains a rigorous fitness routine. Apart from being a devoted father and partner, he enjoys the quieter comforts of life, like cuddling with his furry pup and playing games.
