Beth Wenham: Where is Lee Wenham’s Daughter Now?

Lee Wenham was the man behind the elaborate and daring plot to steal the diamond from the Millennium Dome in 2000. In Netflix’s ‘The Diamond Heist,’ his daughter, Beth Wenham, opened up about her father’s life from a deeply personal perspective. She spoke candidly about what she knew of his lifestyle growing up and the moment she discovered he had been arrested. Her participation in the series provided a rare and intimate glimpse into the impact of such a high-profile crime on different people.

Beth Wenham Found Out About Her Father’s Life After His Arrest

Beth Wenham revealed that as a child, she never really knew what her father, Lee Wenham, did for a living. There was an unspoken rule in their household not to ask questions about his work, and she respected that boundary. Still, his presence was unmistakable as she was often recognized in the community and frequently asked if she was Lee’s daughter, whether at school or out in public. In a way, that attention made her feel special. Beth and her sister, Ellie, grew up in a loving and stable home. Their father doted on them, provided a comfortable life, and was actively present in their upbringing. To them, he was just like any other devoted parent—warm, affectionate, and deeply involved in their lives.

In the year 2000, when the Millennium Dome first opened to the public, Lee took Beth along with him for what seemed like an ordinary day out. At the time, she had no idea that her father was actually scoping out the venue, carefully observing and planning for what would become one of the most daring heists in British history. To her, it was just another visit—uneventful and innocent. The truth hit her like a wave months later when she saw the news on November 7, 2000, which showed her father being arrested as part of the attempted diamond robbery. Beth described the moment as both shocking and heartbreaking, something she couldn’t fully comprehend at the time. What followed were months of legal turmoil, filled with confusion and emotional strain. The realization that her father would be spending the next 13 years in prison was devastating. Beth recalled how challenging those years were, especially growing up without him by her side.
