In episode 2 of ‘BMF’s’ season 4, the bad blood between the Flenory brothers continues to grow, sending them down different paths. Terry and Meech have big plans to expand their business through several means. However, the rift that opened between them after their dangerous trip to Mexico sends them further and further apart from each other. Meanwhile, B-Mickie, an old friend-turned-nemesis, struggles to make ends meet. Still, despite the stunt he pulled the other day with Lamar Silas, he stays firmly out of the brothers’ good book. On the other hand, trouble brews in the Flenory household when a misstep sends Nicole’s promising future into turmoil when she’s picked up by a cop and forced to spend a night in lock-up. SPOILERS AHEAD!
Bryant Continues Going After Meech
Bryant has a long and varied history with Meech and the Black Mafia Family. He has been trying to catch the criminal organization and its ringleader for years now, making multiple sacrifices along the way. It seems his objective hasn’t changed in the slightest since the gang’s multi-state expansion. Therefore, he finds himself circling around their old neighborhood after a support group session. However, he ends up catching the wrong people’s eyes when a turf war breaks out. As a result, the local officers take him into custody. Eventually, this leads to an unexpected partnership offer.
The cops want to clear the streets of criminal lowlifes, most of whom sell BMF’s stash around the neighborhood. Since Bryant’s sights are set upon Meech, their interests inevitably align. Thus, they come up with a joint sting operation after identifying one plane flying in from Colombia as a possible stowaway for the gang’s stash. Nonetheless, the mission ends up going sideways when a premature gunfight leads to the other detective’s death. Worse yet, the plane showcases no signs of connection to the criminal organization. However, this is actually by design. Meech was onto Bryant’s trail, which is why he intentionally set him up for a trap.
Meech’s real stash is actually being transported separately by his business partners. Still, it isn’t as if the gang leader is entirely out of the red. Although he was able to foil Bryant’s plans, he’s unaware that the possibility of an insurrection is brewing among his own chain of command. Once his partners-in-crime realize they can operate in the shadows since all the focus is on Meech, they also conclude that there’s nothing stopping them from stealing his stash and walking the path alone. While this is unfolding, the older Flenory brother lets himself be talked into taking a hit of some hard drugs, which might prove to be a slippery slope in the future.
Nicole Pays the Price For Meech’s Gift
In the previous episode, when Meech makes his big comeback from a long period of absence, he brings a gift along for his sister’s graduation. He gives Nicole a car of her own, which is received with much excitement and fanfare. Days later, the young girl takes the car out for a spin with her boyfriend. However, it isn’t long before it catches the attention of some cops. As it turns out, the car is stolen and immediately pings as such on official systems. Consequently, Nicole finds herself in an interrogation room with a cop, who is eager to find a way to incriminate her brothers. Still, she stands her ground and refuses to snitch on Meech.
Nicole uses her one phone call to dial home and ask her mother to bring bail money, and continues to spend the rest of the night in jail. The news comes as a shock to Lucille and Charles, who find themselves faced with the challenge of sourcing enough funds to pay their daughter’s bail. Since Meech’s illegal money caused the problem in the first place, they are determined not to borrow a penny from him. Eventually, Charles ends up having to sell his beloved musical instrument for a quick buck. In the aftermath, Nicole picks a huge fight with her mother when the latter tries to shame her about her decision to have sex with her boyfriend. It seems the unfair punishment of a night in lock-up has turned the young woman bitter toward her family, for better or for worse.
B-Mickie Attempts to Return to the Gang
B-Mickie’s time in the Black Mafia Family has long ended ever since his last mistake almost cost the gang their future. For the same reason, despite his close friendship with Meech, he gets kicked out of the crime organization. Since then, he has tried to land on his feet by making an honest living at the Plant. Nonetheless, when B-Mickie’s young daughter ends up sick and in need of expensive treatment, his income barely makes up for it. As such, he finds himself severely struggling to put together enough money to keep his family afloat. In fact, he even tries to request some aid from the local church.
Thus, B-Mickie had reached out to the Flenory brothers on the night of Nicole’s graduation. Nonetheless, even though she shot Lamar for their safety, the duo continues to keep him at arm’s length. Still, he manages to snag a meeting with Terry. Ever since Mexico, his relationship with Meech has been strained, leading the two to make their own decisions about the gang. Even so, he knows it’s best not to make any decisions about B-Mickie without his brother’s consultation. Furthermore, he’s equally unwilling to trust the man again. For the same reason, Terry offers the father some cash to take care of his daughter’s operation. Yet, the latter turns the offer down, insisting that what he really needs is a way to make a living for himself and his family.
