The fourth and final season of Netflix’s ‘How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast)’ explores a new direction of Moritz Zimmermann’s life. At the end of the third season, he is arrested for his drug dealing activities. He surrenders to the law to save his friends from paying for his crimes. He promises to build a legal business when he gets out of prison, but when the time comes, he finds himself sliding back on his previous patterns. His friends, Lenny and Dan, are now running Bonus Life, which he believes he has been cut out of. Later, he meets the owner of a company called Brofrost, through which he aims to take over Bonus Life. Both these companies push the story forward, but they exist only in the fictional realm. SPOILERS AHEAD.
The Fictional Bonus Life and Brofrost are Critical to Moritz’s Story
The events of ‘How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast)’ are inspired by a true story, but it is a heavily fictionalized version of events where characters and companies are made up to further the plot of the story. Bonus Life and Brofrost are among those fictitious things. In the show, Bonus Life is marketed as a company that sells fitness food and products for gamers, considering that they lead a heavily sedentary lifestyle. Despite its niche market, its products have become very popular, and it has made a lot of profit. In contrast, Brofrost is owned by a man named Behzat Aygün and focuses on the business of distributing frozen food.
In real life, there is a company called Bofrost in Germany that distributes frozen food and ice cream around the continent. However, it does not have any connection to Behzat’s company in the Netflix series. The fictional nature of both these companies stands in contrast to MyDrugs, which was based on the real drug-dealing website Shiny Flakes, created by Maximilian Schmidt, the real-life Moritz Zimmermann. Both fictional companies appear in the fourth season of the show. Bonus Life was mentioned in Season 1 when Dan tried to propose it as a potential front for Moritz’s drug business. However, a jealous Moritz quashed the idea. Now, Dan and Lenny have actually brought it to life, and this hurts Moritz’s ego once again.
Meanwhile, Brofrost was started with good intentions, but by not receiving help during its difficult years, the company suffered a lot. In the end, Behzat found that the only way to save it was to use it as a front for his drug business, which ended up opening many doors for him. The primary purpose of Bonus Life and Brofrost is to show how, even without MyDrugs, Moritz is capable of landing himself in situations that prove dangerous for him and the people around him. By the end of the season, both companies become invariably involved with one another, and it’s all thanks to Moritz.
