Brad Bradley Spoke to His Sister Hours Before She Went Missing
Amy Bradley was only two years older than her brother, Brad, and the two shared a deep bond. She was always protective of him and more like a close friend than just a sibling. During Brad’s high school graduation, the family hosted a backyard celebration where Amy gave a heartfelt speech, expressing how proud she was of him and promising to always support his choices. He saw her as his confidant and as someone he could trust unconditionally. In late March 1998, the Bradley family took a trip aboard the Royal Caribbean International cruise ship Rhapsody of the Seas. Brad, then 21, didn’t mind sharing a room with their parents, Iva and Ron, as it was going to be a fun time for all of them.
Brad recalled that Amy often drew a lot of attention from the cruise staff during their trip. In fact, it became something of a lighthearted family joke that if they needed anything, they should send her to ask, as the staff always seemed eager to help her. On the evening of March 23, 1998, after having dinner with their family, the siblings decided to head to the ship’s disco. They spent the night dancing, having drinks, and soaking in the lively atmosphere. Brad described the venue as very crowded, and at one point, he saw Amy move toward the area behind the DJ booth, where she allegedly began speaking with the ship’s bass player, Alister “Yellow” Douglas. Brad, who had moved to the other side of the room, signaled to Amy that he was heading out. He didn’t think much of it at the time and assumed she would return to their room later.
Brad returned to the cabin around 3:35 am after spending some time on the ship’s deck. Just five minutes later, Amy walked in. The two siblings sat together on the balcony and shared a heartfelt conversation about life and how much they appreciated one another. Brad recalled that he began feeling tired, and Amy told him to go ahead and get some rest. That was the last time he saw her. Around 6:30 am, he was woken by his father, who said Amy was missing, and their frantic search began. In April 1998, during a visit to Curaçao, Brad reported something that has stayed with him for years. He said he heard a voice calling his name in a way only Amy did. While he acknowledged that it might have been his mind playing tricks, the familiarity and clarity of the voice left a deep impact.

Over the years, Brad Bradley has stood steadfastly beside his parents, supporting them through countless searches and following up on every lead, tip, or possible sighting of his sister. His belief that Amy is still alive has kept their hope intact. While he maintains a low public profile, it’s believed that Brad lives in Petersburg, Virginia, close to his parents, Ron and Iva.
