TLC’s ‘My 600-Lb Life: Where Are They Now?’ revisits former participants from ‘My 600-Lb Life’ to show how their journeys continue after surgery and documents their progress, setbacks, and life changes as they work toward lasting health. The series focuses on the long-term reality of weight loss. In the seventh season, one segment of the episode followed Brianne Dias. Despite facing an especially difficult period in her personal life, she remained committed to her goals, continued losing weight, and showed resilience as she worked to rebuild her health and move forward.
Brianne’s Marriage Broke Down While She Was in the Middle of Her Weight-Loss Journey
Brianne Dias left Oregon, along with her then-husband Rick and her stepdaughter Crystal, to travel to Texas so she could pursue weight-loss surgery and reclaim her life. At the time, she weighed over 700 pounds, and even basic daily activities had become extremely difficult. Brianne also dreamed of becoming a mother, which further motivated her to seek change. She qualified for surgery and, over the following year, steadily lost weight and eventually reached around 400 pounds. During this period, Brianne received a positive pregnancy test and felt hopeful about the future, but the joy was short-lived when she suffered a miscarriage. The loss was devastating, yet she refused to abandon her goals or the life she wanted to build.

Determined to continue improving her health, Brianne moved forward with skin removal surgery to increase her mobility and quality of life. The procedure marked a major milestone, as it was the first time in more than 15 years that she found herself in the 200-pound weight range. After returning home to Oregon, Brianne faced another painful setback when she learned that Rick had allegedly been unfaithful. The betrayal was upsetting and difficult to process, especially after everything she had endured. Despite the toll, Brianne chose not to let the situation derail her progress. Instead, she remained focused on maintaining a healthier lifestyle, prioritizing her own well-being, and continuing her journey of self-improvement for herself rather than for anyone else.
Brianne Smith Riley is Leading a Happy Life With Her Husband and Son Today
Brianne Dias has been open about how emotionally challenging her divorce was, a process that was ultimately finalized in March 2021. Even before it officially ended, she had begun rebuilding her life, and by 2020, she started dating again. It was during this time that she met Chris Riley, whom she described as kind and responsible. She soon envisioned a future rooted in stability and shared goals with him. Following the finalization of her divorce, Brianne and Chris took the next step in their relationship and were married on October 9, 2021. They have settled in Austin, Texas, where they have since built a life with joy and perseverance, supporting one another through life’s highs and inevitable challenges.
Later in 2021, Brianne shared joyful news when she announced her pregnancy. Initially expecting twins, doctors later determined that one twin was not viable, and the pregnancy continued with one healthy baby. In February 2022, Brianne welcomed her son, River Jameson-Edward Riley. During delivery, she experienced preeclampsia, a serious pregnancy complication characterized by high blood pressure that required close medical monitoring. Thankfully, both mother and child recovered well and are now healthy. Today, River is the center of Brianne’s world. She frequently shares tender moments from their life together, from everyday routines at home to special celebrations.
On Halloween 2025, Brianne dressed as a superhero while River went trick-or-treating as Harry Potter, and it was a snapshot of the happiness she had worked hard to build. She is still close to her stepdaughter, Crystal Dias, and often meets her and has made sure River knows her as his sister. At home, Brianne’s family life remains central, and their dog, Zena, is an important part of their everyday routine and life. Brianne has always been religious, and her faith has grown every day. She thanks God for the health and happiness that have been sent her way. She remains grateful and is raising her son with the same gratitude.
