Fox’s ‘The Snake’ assembles a diverse mix of contestants from vastly different, and often clashing, professional backgrounds, which adds an interesting layer to their in-game dynamics. In the first season, one standout was Bryan Sobolewski, who immediately turned heads by introducing himself as an ex-con. His presence brought intrigue, but it was his sharp thinking and smart tactics that kept everyone on their toes. His approach was anything but predictable; he made bold moves, read the room well, and consistently defied expectations. His journey through the game was full of twists, making him one of the most memorable players of the season.
Bryan Sobolewski Drew From His Life Experiences to Get Ahead in the Season
Bryan Sobolewski entered the season with a clear mindset that his past had prepared him to play without moral hesitation. He openly admitted he would use every tactic available to get ahead, and that is what he did. Trusting no one but himself, he relied on instinct and self-awareness to navigate the game. During the first challenge, which determined who would become the Snake, Bryan remained composed, and even while touching a real snake, he carefully masked his reaction to avoid giving anything away. It was at this moment that Kethryn Cavender offered him her box, claiming it contained the medallion.
Skeptical, Bryan declined and chose to swap with someone else. When it was revealed that she had been telling the truth, he quickly recognized her as both a formidable opponent and a potential ally. She later approached him privately and expressed her desire to keep him in the game while also protecting their alliance by not making it public. As a result, she saved Jordan DeJesse first, who then saved Bryan and it secured his place in the game. Bryan understood the value and the risk of such alliances. While he knew the favor came with strings attached, he was more than willing to go through those hurdles if it meant gaining an advantage. Calm, calculating, and resilient, his early moves proved that he was there to play a long, smart game.
Bryan Sobolewski Has Come a Long Way and is Working as a Personal Trainer Today
Bryan Sobolewski’s journey has been anything but conventional. Growing up with limited resources, his life took a dramatic turn when his father was robbed. It was an incident that would unknowingly set the course for years to come. What began as a quest for revenge soon escalated into a five-year-long crime spree. Alongside his father and brother, Bryan became part of what would later be dubbed the Jewelry Heist Ring, a group responsible for over 20 robberies across the New England region, targeting primarily high-value jewels. Bryan has since reflected candidly on this period of his life.
According to him, his father acted as the ringleader, his brother provided the muscle, and he was just a young man doing what he thought was expected of him. During that time, he also struggled with alcohol dependency and felt like there was no way for things to turn for him. However, after serving his sentence, Bryan made the conscious decision to rebuild. He joined an Alcoholics Anonymous program and began his path to recovery. He earned an Associate’s degree in Substance Abuse Counseling and went on to complete his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. In addition, he earned an ACE certification as a personal trainer. He wanted to channel both his personal and physical transformation into a new, healthier direction, but there was another reason.
He knew that finding stable employment as an ex-con would not be easy, but as a personal trainer, his background would not matter much. His past no longer defines him. Instead, it fuels his drive to help others make better choices and live better lives. In November 2018, he opened Meso Fit Boca as a co-owner. He has been working as a personal trainer ever since, and he is based out of Nahant, Massachusetts. He likes the physical rigor and the challenges that come his way and recognizes that these are simple hurdles with simple solutions. This new phase of his life has been truly transformative, and Bryan has not looked back since then.
Bryan Sobolewski Brings His Voice to the Younger Generation
Beyond his academic and fitness credentials, Bryan Sobolewski has emerged as a passionate advocate for second chances and personal growth. Drawing from his own experiences, he has stepped into the spotlight not just as a public speaker but as a youth transformation coach dedicated to guiding at-risk individuals toward better life choices. He regularly holds mentorship sessions, including a well-received program in November 2024, where he worked directly with young people navigating difficult paths. His goal is to offer real-world tools and inspiration for those who feel trapped by their circumstances.
In addition to his coaching, Bryan also explores self-expression through stand-up comedy, taking to the stage to share stories with humor, raw honesty, and insight. His performances often weave his life experiences into thought-provoking material. Combining both his interests, he held a Stand-Up And Shine Comedy Class for kids in May 2025, and it was quite a success. His advocacy reached a wider audience when he appeared on ‘The Balanced Voice’ podcast in November 2024. There, he opened up about his journey, from committing crimes to building a meaningful, purpose-driven life, and emphasized the power of transformation. For him, it’s not about erasing the past but using it as fuel to change the future.
