When Caleb Vaughan Collier and Kelly Ray Olen John Landsaw-Davis were found murdered in a Haikey Creek Park area parking lot in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the FBI was quickly informed. Not only was the offense on these two young Native Americans merciless, but evidence also connected it to a separate incident 5 days prior, as explored in A&E’s ‘After the First 48: The Cleaners.’ Thankfully, though, investigators were able to identify the perpetrators and bring the case to a close not long after, based on cell phone records, forensic evidence, and witness statements.
Caleb Collier and Kelly Landsaw-Davis Were Found Dead in a Parking Lot Miles From Their Homes
Around the early 2000s, Caleb Vaughan Collier was born to Cheri Collier as an only child. He grew up surrounded by affection, care, love, and support at every step. According to records, the Oklahoma native was a 20-year-old student at the University of Tulsa by the time 2021 rolled around. However, he still maintained a close relationship with his beloved single mother. He was essentially the light of her life, not only because of the bond they shared but also because he was reportedly so compassionate and kind that he brightened up any room he walked into.

One of Caleb’s closest friends to have experienced this glimmer firsthand was Kelly Ray Olen John Landsaw-Davis, a 21-year-old employee at Macy’s Distribution Center from Broken Arrow. He was born in Independence, Kansas, on April 5, 2000, to Kelly Ray Davis and Johanna Marie Landsaw-Davis, but he eventually settled in Tulsa County to build a life for himself. He had no idea that while he would experience much joy with his partner Madison Ramsey, as well as the two children they shared – Niomi and Mason – he would also lose his life here. On May 13, 2021, the Cherokee Nation residents’/friends’ cold, bloody remains were found in a parking lot in Haikey Creek Park, Broken Arrow. While the 20-year-old had been shot 15 times in the torso, neck, and head with a .45 caliber pistol, the 21-year-old was shot once with a 12-gauge shotgun.
Caleb Collier and Kelly Landsaw-Davis’ Killers Were Arrested Within Days
When Caleb and Kelly’s remains were found by local officials on the morning of May 13, they were able to ascertain that they had been killed mere hours prior, owing to the rigor mortis. However, they quickly turned the case over to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as both victims were identified as Native Americans and recovered without any personal belongings. That’s when detectives uncovered that both of the same exact weapons here had also been used in a seemingly unrelated carjacking, robbery, and shooting just 5 days prior, on May 8. The prior incident was captured on surveillance footage, showing two men lying in wait for an opportunity at the Westminster Apartment, Tulsa. As per reports, they soon approached a 2005 Chevy Tahoe with their weapons drawn, only to open fire when the driver refused to get out and instead tried to flee.

The security camera clearly captured one man aiming at the driver before shooting an entire magazine of his pistol, whereas the other man fired his shotgun while targeting the vehicle. The victim here managed to escape, yet he was struck multiple times in the arms, hands, knees, face, and frontal scalp, as a result of which he sustained severe permanent damage to his hand. In the inquiries to follow, the two men were positively identified as then-20-year-old Hunter Isaiah Hobbs and then-18-year-old Denim Lee Blount, both of whom were residents of Bixby.
Little did officials know that Denim would turn himself in on the evening of May 16, 2021, following which he was detained in Tulsa County jail on the grounds of an unrelated state warrant. According to records, while a federal warrant against both him and Hunter had been issued for the May 8 offense, he was also wanted on a separate previous charge of second-degree rape. It was then that it came to light that Hunter was the mastermind behind the entire operation as he had planned the robberies, picked the targets, and provided the youngster with the shotgun.
Hunter Hobbs and Denim Blount Are Both Incarcerated in Federal Prison Today
Hunter was apprehended shortly after, which led to the discovery of several additional details in both incidents, thanks to forensic evidence, witness statements, and further investigation. It turned out that after the duo had failed in their carjacking/robbery attempt on May 8, they had carefully conspired to take things one step further 5 days later by attacking two friends. As per records, they had intentionally outlined how they would lure Caleb and Kelly to a secluded area of Haikey Creek Park to rob them before having to “off them” to avoid any trouble. That’s precisely what Hunter and Denim did after local residents Caleb and Kelly picked them up in the early morning hours of May 13, 2021.

When they arrived at the Haikey Creek Park area, the 18-year-old somehow tricked the father of two into handing over the weapon he was carrying before he drew out his own 12-gauge shotgun. Hunter did the same with his .45 caliber pistol, following which he assertively ordered both victims to get out of the car and began shooting. He shot Caleb 8 times in the torso before reloading and firing seven more times in the head and neck upon hearing him gasp for breath, whereas his accomplice killed Kelly with a single gunshot. Hunter and Denim subsequently stole their victims’ belongings, including cells as well as the vehicle, only to abandon the latter in Tulsa and set it on fire in the hopes of destroying evidence.
Nevertheless, they were both apprehended within days, following which several witnesses also came forward to assert that they had heard the former joke about the double homicide. In the end, Hunter was convicted of 3 counts of felony murder, 2 counts of conspiracy to carry, use, & brandish a firearm, and 1 count each of attempted carjacking, robbery, causing death by carrying, using, & discharging a firearm, and obstruction of justice. For this, he was sentenced to a total of 3 life terms in federal prison, plus an additional 60 years.
On the other hand, Denim was convicted of similar charges, but he received a relatively lighter sentence – he was handed down 20-23 years in prison. Thus, today, at age 23, he is incarcerated at the high-security United States Penitentiary-Terre Haute in Terre Haute, Indiana, where he will remain until his scheduled release date of May 17, 2044. Hunter, though, at age 24, is incarcerated at the medium-security Federal Correctional Institution-Williamsburg in Salters, South Carolina, where he is expected to remain for the rest of his natural life.
