Actors Casey Affleck and Pete Davidson will be joining forces in London for director Doug Liman’s biographical drama ‘Killing Satoshi.’ Filming will begin this month. The story, written by Nick Schenk, looks to unravel one of the most enduring mysteries of the 21st century: the secret identity of Satoshi Nakamoto, the mysterious Bitcoin creator, and why the answer threatens the global power structure. The story, which has been the subject of countless debates across social media, books, and documentaries, traces an elite cabal’s diabolical plans to ensure that the truth never surfaces.

The interesting thing about the production is that the indie film will use artificial intelligence to “adjust” some performances. Actors will also perform on a “markerless performative capture stage and not in any locations, using new AI technologies,” as per a casting notice. In other words, the backgrounds and scenery will be generated using AI, with no on-location shooting. However, the notice also confirms that the technology won’t be used to create a “recognizable and identifiable digital replica” of an actor’s voice or likeness without “prior written consent.”
Academy Award winner Casey Affleck’s latest movies are the sci-fi thriller ‘Slingshot,’ which is about an astronaut on a mission to one of Saturn’s moons, the action comedy flick ‘The Instigators,’ co-starring Matt Damon, Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer,’ and ‘Dreamin’ Wild,’ which is based on the life of singer-musician brothers Donnie and Joe Emerson.
Comedian/actor Pete Davidson played Scott Carlin, a tattoo artist, in the black comedy drama ‘The King of Staten Island,’ a role for which he received a lot of praise. He also starred in the horror movie ‘The Home,’ the action comedy ‘The Pickup,’ the comedy drama ‘Dumb Money,’ and the horror comedy ‘Bodies Bodies Bodies.’ Next for him is David Leitch’s heist drama ‘How to Rob a Bank,’ which also stars Nicholas Hoult, Zoë Kravitz, and John C. Reilly.
Doug Liman is a common name in the action genre, having directed ‘The Instigators,’ ‘Road House,’ ‘Locked Down,’ ‘The Wall,’ and several episodes of Netflix’s ‘The Recruit,’ among other projects.
