Charlize Theron’s next movie, a high-stakes Prime Video thriller titled ‘Tyrant,’ will be shot across New York City and Los Angeles. Principal photography will begin on March 16 this year. David Weil is the director. He also wrote the story with Cody Behan. Julia Garner is cast as well. While the plot is under wraps, the story blends shades of ‘Wall Street’ and ‘Whiplash’ and is set in the fine-dining world of New York City.

Julia Garner “shone bright” as the Silver Surfer in the MCU movie ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps.’ She also played Justice, a teacher, in the critically acclaimed horror movie ‘Weapons.’ Her fans know her as Ruth Langmore from Netflix’s ‘Ozark,’ Kimberly Breland from ‘FX’s ‘The Americans,’ Anna (Sorokin) and Delvey from Netflix’s ‘Inventing Anna.’ Other well-known movies she has starred in include ‘Wolf Man,’ ‘The Royal Hotel,’ ‘Everything Beautiful Is Far Away,’ and ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower.’ Next for Garner is a Netflix crime drama series titled ‘The Altruists,’ which explores the tumultuous romance between FTX co-founder Sam Bankman-Fried and his girlfriend Caroline Ellison, which resulted in a $36 billion fraud. Garner will play Caroline Ellison, and Anthony Boyle will play Sam Bankman-Fried.
David Weil is the creator of the Prime Video conspiracy drama series ‘Hunters,’ the anthology series ‘Solos,’ the spy action series ‘Citadel,’ and the Apple TV+ sci-fi series ‘Invasion.’ ‘Tyrant’ is his feature directorial debut.
