Christopher Revak: What Happened to the Suspected Serial Killer?

In the summer of 1995, Jodi Huisentruit vanished from the parking lot of her apartment in Mason City, Iowa. Over the years, the investigators moved heaven and earth to find her whereabouts and uncover the truth about her perpetrator/s. During the investigation, they focused on a few individuals, whom they considered persons of interest. One of them was Christopher E. Revak, a suspected serial killer who was already facing charges for an unrelated murder case. ABC’s ‘Her Last Broadcast: The Abduction of Jodi Huisentruit’ focused on Jodi’s disappearance and how the detectives suspected Christopher of the crime.

Christopher E. Revak Was Accused of Killing Rene Williams

In 2009, Christopher E. Revak appeared to be a regular guy leading a peaceful life in Taney County, Missouri, where he worked as an EMT. On the personal front, he was married to Johanna Revak, who was also employed in the same department. Besides being a husband, he was also a father to a daughter from his previous marriage. However, the Wisconsin Rapids native allegedly led a double life as he was linked to the 2007 disappearance and murder of 36-year-old Rene Marie Williams. On the fateful day of March 13, 2007, Rene left the Eagles Lodge in Ava, Missouri, where she worked as a bartender, around 1:30 am. However, she never reached home, and her vehicle was found abandoned in the parking lot the following morning.

As the investigation progressed, the detectives zeroed in on Christopher, who was reportedly at the Eagles Lodge on the night she went missing. Moreover, his DNA was found on the sidewalk near the missing woman’s vehicle. Upon inspecting his belongings, the investigators found blood belonging to Renee in his truck and a pair of pants. In order to get more incriminating evidence against him, they reached out to his wife, Johanna, who wrote a detailed 26-page letter, where she claimed that she helped her husband load Rene’s remains into the truck. When questioned about the same, Christopher admitted that he had accidentally strangled her, after which he disposed of the remains. On July 25, 2009, he was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

Christopher E. Revak Took His Own Life After His Arrest

According to reports, the day after his arrest, Christopher E. Revak hanged himself in his jail cell in the Douglas County Jail. The authorities believed that he was a serial killer who was allegedly responsible for committing at least three more murders. Apart from Rene Marie Williams, he has also been linked to the murder of Deidre Christine Harm, a 21-year-old Wisconsin Rapids woman who was killed on June 21, 2006.

Her remains were discovered a few months later, after which the authorities questioned possible witnesses, who claimed that they remembered seeing a man following Deidre on the fateful day. With the help of the witness accounts, the authorities managed to develop a sketch of the potential perpetrator. The sketch appeared to match various aspects of Christopher’s facial features. For a brief moment, he was also considered a person of interest in the disappearance of Jodi Huisentruit. Furthermore, the potential serial killer was suspected of killing two other women, the details of which are yet to be made public.
