Coming so close to winning a high-stakes competition like Prime Video’s ‘Beast Games,’ where the prize can be life-changing, is an achievement in itself. In season 2, Player 191, Cory Sims, one of the final two contestants, reached the very brink of victory but ultimately fell short of claiming the title. In the final challenge, luck played a role, and despite giving a strong, strategic performance throughout, Cory accepted the outcome with grace, demonstrating both skill and sportsmanship in the face of narrowly missing the grand prize.
Cory Sims’ Luck Didn’t Favor Him in the Last Challenge of the Competition
Cory Sims entered the season as a member of Team Strong, and from the very first challenge of pulling up blocks and lifting his own weight, he demonstrated strength and quickly earned the trust of his teammates. In the Rope Challenge, even though he slipped and got a rope burn, he was able to pull himself up, which showed that he was a player who would not give up easily.
In the Cube Challenge, he partnered with JT and Brett, leveraging the relationships he had built earlier in the season. Having supported JT in a previous challenge, Cory benefited from JT’s promise to sacrifice for his friends and advanced to the next round. As he progressed to the top six, Cory was both encouraged and surprised by the support from friends and teammates he had bonded with over time. In the final two, with three suitcases remaining, the outcome rested entirely on fate. When Player 167, Tyler, revealed the suitcase containing the grand prize, Cory realized he had lost. Despite the disappointment, he celebrated his friend’s victory wholeheartedly and maintained his composure. He did not show an ounce of insecurity and exhibited true sportsmanship throughout the competition.
