In order to discourage purposeless screentime and turn technology into a productive tool for children’s growth, Cazden Morrison, Robbie Davidson, Kai Forman, Jacky Chao, and Winston Cadenas founded Creator Camp, which offers creative content camps for kids on several interesting and favorite subjects. Out of the five owners, four of them pitched their business in front of the Sharks in the fifth episode of ABC’s ‘Shark Tank’ season 16, and secured a deal with Barbara Corcoran.
Creator Camp: Who Are They and What Do They Do?
The five founders of Creator Camp — Cazden Morrison, Robbie Davidson, Kai Forman, Jacky Chao, and Winston Cadenas — go way back, as they all met in the filmmaking club at Seven Lakes High School. Before reuniting to establish the organization in 2021, they went on their separate professional journeys. Cazden, who earned a Bachelor’s degree in radio, television, and film from the University of Texas at Austin, interned at Local Search Group to begin his career, which also involves him interning at Tesla as a Video Content Producer. He also served as an Independent Producer/Director at CazdenM. As for Robbie, he attended Blinn College and Texas A&M University. His first few jobs included working at Baskin-Robbins, Percento Technologies as an IT intern, and Nift as an intern. From 2018 to 2020, Cazden and Robbie also co-owned Imminent Visuals LLC before joining forces for Creator Camp.
After graduating from Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor’s degree in Animation and Interactive Technology, Kai Forman worked at Layer as a Games Community Researcher, Marketing Designer, and Marketing Technologist. Before that, he had part-time jobs at Code Camp, Junior Engineers, and Domino’s. For a few years, he also created content for his YouTube channel. Before becoming a founding member of Creator Camp, Jacky Chao held part-time positions at The Mercury UTD and OneDay. The University of Texas at Dallas graduate also interned as a Motion Designer at FleishmanHillard. Meanwhile, Winston Cadenas majored in Economics at Texas A&M University before joining his high school friends in the business venture. Simultaneously, the former Technology Consultant at PwC is also employed at Ryan as a Consultant.
“We started in 2021 and we started in Katy, because we’re all from Katy. At first, it was just us teaching the classes ourselves, just to test it out. That summer was really successful, so we slowly grew to different cities,” Jacky Chao explained the origin story of Creator Camp in an interview with ABC13. In the same interview, Robbie said, “We noticed a growing issue right now with a bunch of iPad kids — kids glued to their screens. So we thought, ‘What if we can change kids’ relationships with technology from consumption to creation?'” Thus, the idea for Creator Camp was born. By directing children’s attention to the screens for a purpose, the five founders intend to show them a different side of technology, involving self-expression and creativity. Through Creator Camps, they offer different courses and allow the students to use the technology to get closer to their respective dreams by creating their own work.
Creator Camp: Where Are They Now?
Creator Camp has only achieved new heights since its launch in 2021, which further increased after its appearance on Shark Tank. Right after their episode aired in mid-November 2024, the team dropped new merch on their website, followed by some great discounts in December. While it began its operations in and around Houston, Texas, the company now offers its services not just in the Greater Houston Area but nearly 30 locations across Texas, such as Dallas, San Antonio, Fort Worth, and Austin, as well as multiple locations in Utah, Washington, DC, and Colorado. The year 2025 started with a bang for the team as it also extended the services of its camps internationally, to Canada, particularly in Mississauga, Ontario.
Since Barbara Corcoran welcomed them into her family by agreeing to $350,000 for 18%, things have improved substantially for the business. The investor made her debut appearance on the channel in mid-February 2025, urging the parents to secure a spot for their child in the creative summer camps for 2025. The team had the opportunity to hang around in the shark’s personal habitat in New York City when they were invited for dinner at her penthouse in April. Alongside delectable food, they were also served with meaningful tips and tricks that would help them grow and market the business efficiently. The food, drinks, and insights were followed up by a Yankees match.
In March, the company went on a hiring spree looking for Camp Managers, Lead Counselors, and Assistant Counselors with a passion for helping kids explore the world of animation, filmmaking, etc. Over the years, the unique summer camps have received the vote of confidence from several parents who have thanked the team for ensuring a safe and creative environment for their kids to explore their untapped potential in such a fun way. With 4650+ spots filled to date, it has secured a barrage of favorable parent-kids reviews as well as revenue since its launch. It rolled out 6-week online workshops such as the YouTube Content Creators Workshop (February-March 31) and the Roblox Game Coders Workshop (February 18-April 1).
Creator Camp is now gearing up for its biggest summer ever. The company has opened seats for several 2-3 day camps running from June to August, ranging from $169 to $269. The 2-day camps designated for children between 6 and 13 years old take place on Thursday and Friday. It offers camps such as Roblox Game Masters, 3D Game Developers, Minecraft Modders & Coders, and Minecraft Redstone Engineers. Meanwhile, the kids applying for 3-day summer camps conducted from Monday to Wednesday can experience the realm of Lego Animators, Music & Beats Producers, 2D Cartoon Animators, Special Effects Editors, YouTube Creators, YouTube Gamers, Shark Tank Entrepreneurs as well as Hollywood Filmmakers; only the former 3 can be availed by 6 year olds, the rest are for kids between 7-13 years of age.
If you wish to gift your kid a comprehensive experience of the camp, you can purchase a Summer Pass for $2499, which would enable the individual to gain access to any camp on any day of the month in a location of your choice from all Creator Camp-owned locations for the summer. For those looking to gift individual 3-day camp passes, they can purchase a gift card for $269, while 2-day camp gift cards are sold for $178. In addition, a Full-Week bundle can be bought at $50 off if you combine any 2-day batch with any 3-day camp of your liking. Taking into consideration the growth, the core team is also working towards turning the business into a franchise. All the founders are very grateful for the opportunities that have opened for them and remain dedicated to fulfilling their mission, employing the same determination they started the company with.
