With the release of Netflix’s ‘America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders,’ viewers have gained a wider understanding of the discipline, athleticism, and professional commitment involved in cheerleading. The series highlights the hard work and determination of the cheerleaders and sheds light on what they truly represent beyond the glamor. The second season, which documented the 2024–2025 NFL season, continued this narrative. Among those featured was Dayton Bramhall, who took part in the intense selection process for the final 36-member team. She gave it everything she had and pushed through challenges that most could hardly imagine.
Dayton Bramhall Could Not Make it to the Final Team of DCC
Dayton Bramhall first entered the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders (DCC) training camp back in 2019, but unfortunately, she was not selected that year. What made the experience particularly challenging was that her mother, Shelly Bramhall, had been a part of the DCC legacy since 1989 and served as an associate choreographer and teacher for the team. Dayton felt the weight of high expectations and the pressure to live up to her mother’s legacy. After six years of personal and professional growth, she made the brave decision to return and audition again for the 2024–2025 season. Her talent earned her a spot among the top 45 candidates, and while she progressed through the rounds, her mentors started to notice signs of internal pressure.
They sensed that she might be dealing with a different kind of stress that was rooted in her deeply personal connection to the organization. Though they tried to handle the situation with care and empathy, particularly given their close ties with Shelly, the team ultimately felt that Dayton wasn’t performing to her full potential. It came down to stamina and consistency, and the tough call had to be made to cut her from the final lineup. Despite the obvious disappointment, Dayton showed incredible maturity. She accepted the decision gracefully and never allowed her personal connections to cloud her response. While she didn’t make the team, she earned the respect of everyone who witnessed her growth and spirit.
Dayton Bramhall is Continuing Her Career at a Dance Studio Today
Dayton Bramhall is, at her core, a lifelong dancer whose dedication to the craft began when she was just three years old. Her foundational training took place at the Academy of Dance Arts in Allen, Texas, but her learning journey extended far beyond. She has studied under several esteemed instructors and choreographers at prestigious institutions such as Jillana in Santa Fe, Florida; The Rock School of Ballet in Philadelphia; Pennsylvania, Houston Ballet; and MODAS in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This extensive and diverse training has shaped her into a highly versatile performer.
Her first major stage performance came at the age of 12 when she was cast in ‘The Nutcracker.’ Since then, she has graced numerous industrial stages and danced for brands like BeautiControl, Mary Kay, and Gaylord Hotels. She has also been a featured performer at the State Fair of Texas, which demonstrated her ability to command large and varied audiences. In addition to her dance accomplishments, Dayton has worked as a child model and entertainer, appearing in print campaigns with The Campbell Agency in Dallas. She held the title of Miss Texarkana Twin Rivers Outstanding Teen 2015 and participated in the Miss Texas’ Outstanding Teen competition. Her range extends to vocal performance as well and she has worked as both a vocalist and dancer aboard Royal Caribbean International Cruise Lines.
Professionally trained in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Pointe, Contemporary, and Modern dance, Dayton’s artistry is as broad as it is refined. Although her journey with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders ended sooner than she hoped, she remains deeply committed to her passion. She is currently looking to take the next major step in her career and is currently working as an instructor at The Young Company. She is also a champion of physical fitness, and it is a combination of the different aspects of her personality that she has used to create a digital profile for herself as well. She has earned many endorsements, and the one with Luxe by Interwoven Design has lasted for several months. As she continues to explore new opportunities, it’s clear that dance will remain the heartbeat of her career, no matter what form the next chapter takes.
Dayton Bramhall Has a Special Place For Family in Her Heart
Dayton Bramhall shares a close relationship with her family, especially with her mother, Shelly Bramhall. As a former DCC and longtime associate choreographer, Shelly has always been Dayton’s role model and someone she admires not only for her professional accomplishments but also for her grace and talent. Dayton grew up watching her mother lead with passion, and that has shaped much of how she approaches her own life. Her father, Jeffrey Bramhall, has also been a steady presence and has been a pillar of support through the various phases of her life and career.
However, the people Dayton is closest to are her siblings—her brother Daxton and her sister Cassie. She is especially protective of Daxton and has celebrated his milestones with joy and pride, constantly encouraging him to grow into the man he’s becoming. Cassie’s daughter, Lily, holds a special place in Dayton’s heart. As an aunt, she is playful, nurturing, and entirely devoted. She always finds time for the little one despite her busy schedule. In everything Dayton takes on, whether it’s friendship, family, or career, she brings thoughtfulness and strength. She stays grounded in who she is and shows up fully for those who matter most to her.
