Debbie Flores-Narvaez Murder: Where is Jason “Blu” Griffith Now?

When Deborah “Debbie” Flores Narvaez suddenly went missing in December 2010, it left all her loved ones baffled to the core. The 31-year-old burlesque dancer was finally pursuing her dreams of being a performer, as explored in ID’s ‘Mean Girl Murders: Vegas Dance Queens.’ However, the universe had a different plan as everything was snatched away from her in the blink of an eye. It took investigators a while to identify precisely what had transpired, eventually leading them to apprehend her person who was responsible for her death and ultimately bring matters to a close.

Deborah “Debbie” Flores Narvaez’s Remains Were Found Nearly a Month After Her Disappearance

Although Debora “Debbie” Flores-Narvaez was born on July 5, 1979, in Puerto Rico, she was primarily raised in Baltimore, Maryland, by her parents, Elsie Narvaez and  Carlos Flores Roman. She had a sister, named Celeste Flores Narvaez, with whom she shared a very close bond, so she knew that her sister not only “loved the spotlight,” but also dreamt of being a performer. Nevertheless, upon graduating from Old Mill High School, she decided to go down the traditional route and earned degrees in Business and Law from the University of Baltimore and Towson University.

Debbie subsequently secured a job in the Finance industry as an executive, earning a 6-figure salary, but as time passed, she realized that was not her real calling. Therefore, in 2009, she left everything behind and relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada, where she worked her way up to ultimately land a stage role in the show Fantasy at the Luxor. However, things changed on the evening of December 12, 2010, when she missed a midnight practice without notice and didn’t come home either. Hence, her roommate reported her missing around 48 hours later, on December 14.

An extensive search for the 31-year-old performer swiftly commenced. Unfortunately, only her remains were discovered on January 5, 2011, about 25 days after she was last seen alive. Debbie’s remains were found buried in cement inside a pair of big green plastic tubs at a local residence, with her autopsy later revealing that she had been strangled to death and dismembered from the waist down. The tubs full of cement had been sealed with spray foam insulation, so authorities were able to positively determine what had transpired, as the evidence had been sealed as well.

Deborah “Debbie” Flores Narvaez Was Reportedly Killed Following an Argument

When Debbie was initially reported missing, her loved ones made it clear that it was extremely unlikely for the showgirl to simply disappear without a trace. The fact that she missed rehearsal for Fantasy and then failed to show up to perform alongside singer Sisqo the next day, despite the project having been conceptualized by her, was also strange. All her roommate knew was that she had left home at around 6 pm to visit her ex-boyfriend, a fellow dancer and performer in Cirque du Soleil’s Beatles Love show at the Mirage,  Jason “Blu” Griffith.

When questioned, Blu admitted that Debbie had stopped by his house around 6:30 pm on the fateful evening, but had left after they had a short conversation. He also claimed that his ex “might be suicidal,” but his claims were found to have no backing after officials spoke to her sister, friends, and roommate in even more detail. That’s when they learned that she also had another ex-boyfriend from 2009, with whom she had parted ways after some very tumultuous times. According to records, it was a relationship that allegedly involved abuse and violence that she ultimately sued him and was awarded $250,000. Thus, the latter was also looked into, but it came to light that he was in Baltimore, Maryland, when Debbie disappeared and could not have been involved.

Investigators subsequently honed in on Blu owing to his behavior in the days that followed and the fact that he brought along a lawyer when they asked if he could come in for another interview. It came to light that he had been dating another woman while involved with Debbie, which once led to an altercation involving a push that led to his arrest for domestic violence. However, officials only got a breakthrough on January 5, when another one of Blu’s ex-girlfriends came forward to reveal he had knocked on her door on December 15 to ask if he could store a large plastic bin at her home. She refused, but she had found it strange that he had come with his roommate and a U-Haul. When questioned, the roommate revealed that Debbie was killed by Blu during an argument.

Jason “Blu” Griffith is Serving His Time in Prison Today

According to records, when Debbie visited Blu on the fateful evening, they ended up getting into an argument that culminated in him strangling her to death. In the roommate’s testimony at trial, he claimed that when he walked in on the scene, all he saw were her arms out to the side while he held a plastic bag over her head to see if she was still alive. As per the confession, it was the roommate who drove Debbie’s car away and abandoned it with her black boots inside at Blu’s behest before he helped him “fold her up, tape her up, and put her in this big plastic tub.”

Blu’s roommate also confessed to how the performer then bought concrete mix, dismembered Debbie from the waist down, and then buried her in it in Home Depot plastic tubs. According to the statements, the two men had initially tried to dispose of the young woman’s remains in a single crate, but when it cracked, they put her torso in one tub and her legs in another. Officials were then led to the abandoned residence housing her remains by the roommate, who was granted immunity in exchange for his cooperation and decision to testify against Blu in court.

Blu was arrested for Debbie’s murder in January 2011, but he didn’t stand trial for the same until over three years later in May 2014. In the end, after several days of testimonies, he was found guilty of second-degree murder, for which he was later sentenced to 10 years to life in prison. Therefore, today, having been denied early release or parole twice – once in 2020 and then in 2025 – the 47-year-old remains incarcerated at the maximum security High Desert State Prison in Clark County, Nevada.
