Did Demi From Mormon Wives Leave the MomTok Group?

Demi Engemann’s journey on Hulu’s ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ has been full of highs and lows, and after she stepped away last season, it wasn’t clear whether she would return. In season 3, she came back into the fold but quickly found herself in the middle of several explosive arguments with her castmates. Much of the MomTok group was at odds with her, yet Demi made a genuine effort to speak to everyone individually, address misunderstandings, and clear the air. Despite the tension, she tried to rebuild connections and explain her side, keeping her place in the group uncertain but interesting.

Demi Engemann Returned to the Season to Speak Her Truth

In Season 2, Demi Engemann’s fallout with the group stemmed from two major issues. First, her relationship with former best friend Jessi Ngatikaura collapsed after disagreements over contract negotiations, with claims that Demi tried to have Jessi removed from the show. Then she clashed with Taylor Paul, attempting to challenge her position as leader, which only further strained her ties with the rest of the cast. Demi later surprised everyone by forming a friendship with Whitney Leavitt, and by Season 3, she continued to influence the group dynamic. Although she exited MomTok at the end of Season 2, rumors resurfaced that she was accusing Jessi of having an affair with Marciano, who, in turn, alleged that Demi pushed him to lie about the situation.

Mikayla also alleged that Demi had tried to get three times the money as the rest of the cast members, and that is what had led to her removal from the season. In season 3, most members of the MomTok group openly voiced their frustration with Demi, and tensions flared during several press events where they crossed paths. Eventually, she made a full return to the season, explaining that she hadn’t initially planned to film and was only participating so she could share her side of the story. She said she left the previous season because she didn’t feel valued or supported by the others. During her conversations with the cast, Demi alleged that Marciano had assaulted her. The rest of the group questioned why she continued communicating with him afterward and struggled to fully believe her claims.

Demi Engemann Has an Ongoing Professional Relationship With the MomTok Group

Demi has had a few reconciliation attempts this season. She spoke with Taylor Paul in the final episode and also met with Jessi, though that conversation didn’t seem to go well. Her relationship with Whitney Leavitt has also cooled, and the two appear more distant now. Demi still follows most MomTok members except Jessi, and in October 2025, she even collaborated on a brand endorsement with Jen Affleck and Layla Taylor. While she’s no longer officially part of the MomTok group, she maintains selective friendships and professional ties. Demi continues to appear on the show and may return next season. A full reintegration into the group isn’t impossible, but it remains a little far-fetched.
