Devin Marble: Where is the Carnival Triumph Passenger Now?

In February 2013, the Carnival Triumph cruise became a nightmare when an engine fire left the ship stranded in the Gulf of Mexico. With no power, passengers endured days without proper food, air conditioning, or working bathrooms, leading the media to dub it the “Poop Cruise.” Netflix’s ‘Trainwreck: Poop Cruise’ revisits the harrowing incident through firsthand accounts of passengers and crew. Among them was Devin Marble, whose vacation took an unexpected turn. He recorded personal footage of the chaos and spoke candidly in the documentary about the emotional and physical toll of being trapped at sea under such distressing conditions.

Devin Marble Went on the Cruise With His Fiancée and Her Father

In February 2013, Devin Marble boarded the Carnival Triumph with his fiancée and soon-to-be father-in-law, hoping for a relaxing vacation and a chance to bond with his future family. The first two days went smoothly, and they enjoyed their stop in Mexico. Devin felt proud of how well he connected with his fiancée’s father. He admitted that the trip held personal importance, and everything seemed to be going just right. But things took a turn on the morning of February 10 when Devin was suddenly awakened by the news of a fire breaking out on the ship. At first, he didn’t think it was serious, but as hours passed, it became clear that the ship had lost power and was stranded.

Passengers were told to conserve resources and soon found themselves without working toilets. Red biohazard bags were handed out for waste, and the smell, discomfort, and lack of hygiene created a truly chaotic scene. Devin had vowed not to use the bag, and, fortunately, on one desperate day, he found a dirty but functional restroom, which he gratefully used. The nightmare lasted for days, and it wasn’t until around 9 pm on February 14, 2013, that passengers were finally rescued and brought ashore. For Devin, the experience was unforgettable. It tested his limits, gave him stories he’d never forget, and remains a vivid reminder of how quickly paradise can turn into a disaster.
