Does Tushie the Dog Die in Dhoom Dhaam?

Netflix’s ‘Dhoom Dhaam’ tells the story of a newly married couple, Veer Khurana and Koyal Chadda, whose wedding night is upended when thugs arrive at their doorstep looking for a mysterious Charlie. Subsequently, they must embark on a night-long journey across Mumbai to find who or what Charlie is before the walls close in around them. As the movie progresses, the attention shifts to an unsung player within the whole drama – the family dog, Tushie. The canine ends up becoming a pivotal part of the mystery and provides some crucial answers in Veer and Koyal’s quest for the truth. However, it also puts the beloved pet in danger as the gang of thugs continues to terrorize the central characters until they get their hands on Charlie. SPOILERS AHEAD.

Tushie the Dog is the Key to Charlie’s Whereabouts

Tushie is the family dog owned by Koyal’s family. She is a very energetic animal who spends her days roaming around the palatial home. During the film’s opening, Tushie gets even more excited as preparations for Veer and Koyal’s wedding ceremony get into motion. As a result, the house is always brimming with distant relatives and friends, allowing the dog to mingle with new humans. However, one day, when Veer returns home with bags of goodies for the wedding guests, the dog starts playing with the contents of one of the bags and accidentally swallows something hidden within. It later turns out to be the Charlie pen drive, which all the thugs are after. It contains critical CCTV evidence of a recent robbery, making it pivotal for the case. As such, the dog becomes an integral part of the puzzle.

Near the film’s end, Veer figures out Charlie’s true whereabouts after deducing that Tushie must have eaten it. Earlier in the night, he overhears a phone conversation between Koyal and one of her relatives about how Tushie has not pooped in almost two days. He connects the dots and realizes that the dog must have consumed the pen drive, which ended up blocking its digestive tract. Subsequently, he collects the dog and heads out to meet the bad guys, who are led by a corrupt cop named Sanjay Ribeiro. He explains the entire incident to them and states that Charlie lies in Tushie’s stomach. Although this frustrates him, Ribeiro tasks his men to collect the dog and use a knife on it if needed. They plan to cut out the pen drive from Tushie even if it may cost the dog its life.

Hearing Ribeiro’s horrifying plan, Veer and Koyal are alarmed. However, with no help arriving at the scene, the two combine efforts to take down the circle of men as effectively as possible. Meanwhile, one of the thugs concentrates on retrieving Tushie. The dog stays out of his clutches and instead starts retaliating. Fortunately, the CID inspectors arrive on the scene to arrest the gang and stop any harm to Tushie. In the film’s final moments, the dog is shown to be pooping outside the warehouse as the CID inspectors amusingly keep watch over the situation. They eventually collect the pen drive. Meanwhile, the dog likely goes back to its loving home and continues her range of mischief. Thus, despite stumbling into the path of danger numerous times, the canine survives until the movie’s end.
