UPtv is gearing up for the Yuletide celebrations! Moviedelic can reveal that the network has ordered the television film ‘Dial S for Santa 2: A Very Merry Christmas,’ a sequel to the 2023 TV movie ‘Dial S for Santa.’ The project is set to begin filming on August 20 under the direction of Nicholas Humphries in Vancouver, British Columbia.
We have yet to find out whether the sequel will be a direct follow-up to the original film starring Sarah Dugdale and Julian Haig. The plot revolves around Lana, who arrives in her hometown to visit her mom for the holidays, only to encounter Nick, a new police detective. They join forces to discover the person behind the series of unusual burglaries in their town. David I. Strasser helmed the romantic drama.
In addition to this project, Humphries has three Christmas-themed projects in the pipeline. He recently completed the filming of ‘The Christmas Clash’ and ‘A Sprinkle of Christmas,’ both starring Marshall Williams and Hayley Sales. These films promise festive showdowns, as their titles suggest. Also nearing completion is ‘Snowy with a Chance of Christmas,’ a heartwarming tale about a weatherwoman who must save her local TV station. As she partners with a single father running a toy drive, she discovers that predicting the weather is far easier than predicting matters of the heart, especially during the holiday season.
Humphries’ latest credits also include ‘Mystery Island,’ a suspense film written by John Christian Plummer. The plot follows Dr. Emilia Priestly, who seeks a peaceful getaway at Mystery Island, a resort offering an immersive murder mystery experience. However, the vacation takes a dark turn when the resort’s enigmatic founder is found murdered as the game begins. Elizabeth Henstridge leads the cast as Dr. Emilia Priestly, joined by Charlie Weber and Robert Getman.
Prior to that, Humphries directed ‘A Lifelong Love,’ which was also released last year and stars Andrea Brooks and Patch May. The film follows Annika, who, in an effort to reunite her grandfather with his lost love, teams up with her college sweetheart, Ryan. Together, they work on a book that chronicles their journey, capturing various love stories along the way.
Humphries, a Vancouver native, has directed numerous projects in the city. These productions include films such as ‘Trap House’ and ‘Mermaid’s Song,’ as well as episodes of the series ‘Stargate: Atlantis.’
