A seemingly picture-perfect marriage between Dino Guglielmelli and Monica Olsen began unraveling as the former reportedly hired a hitman to kill his wife of seven years. However, the murder plot orchestrated by the successful health supplement distributor was unsuccessful when the hitman he hired revealed the truth to the authorities and worked with them. The complicated case and all its intricate details are explored in CBS’ ’48 Hours: The Millionaire, The Model & The Hitman,’ which also features exclusive interviews with the hitman and his target, Monica Olsen.
Dino Guglielmelli Owned a Successful Skincare Company With His First Wife
Born to Emilio Guglielmelli Jr. and Pauline S. Andreas, Dino Guglielmelli was raised in Walla Walla, Washington, in a big family with his seven siblings, Mary Pauline, Emma Jo, Mary, Monica, Emilio III, Gino, and Clare. The charming farm boy was passionate about music from an early age, aspiring to be a musician after growing up. As a matter of fact, he even dropped out of college and relocated to Los Angeles to pursue his dreams of becoming a rock star. Soon, he crossed paths with Leitia Devine, with whom he got into a romantic relationship. As things got serious between them, they tied the knot and welcomed a daughter into the world.

They even established a skincare company called Creations Garden, which turned out to be a huge success. However, as their marriage deteriorated, the couple filed for divorce. According to Leitia, during the proceedings, he allegedly accused her of exhibiting abusive behavior and indulging in drugs and she denied the allegations. Consequently, he won custody of their daughter, their residence, and Creations Garden. A few years later, he met Monica Olsen, a New York fashion model and aspiring actor. Six months after they met, Dino took her on a trip to Venice, Italy, where he proposed to her. A few months later, in 2004, the couple made their relationship official in the eyes of the law.
Dino Hired Richard Fuhrmann to Get Monica Olsen Killed
In the following years, they gave birth to two children, including Vandella. However, his second marriage also began showing signs of deterioration after a while. Thus, after seven years of togetherness, he filed for divorce but was worried that he would lose half his assets and the custody of his children. In early 2012, he accused her of physically assaulting him, for which she was arrested. As a result, he managed to obtain a restraining order against Monica and the full custody of their daughters. After 13 months, the charges against her were dropped due to a lack of evidence.

As per their divorce proceedings, Dino was obligated to pay over $50,000 monthly for family support to Monica. The prosecutors also alleged he cheated on Monica. In order to avoid that, he reportedly reached out to his friend, Richard “Rick” Fuhrmann, and hired him to get rid of his estranged wife. Rick testified that when Dino solicited him to kill Monica, he went to the authorities and worked with them. Wearing a wire, on October 1, 2013, he met Dino at a restaurant, where he confirmed that he wanted Rick to carry out the killing. The following day, Dino was arrested in his residence in Valencia, California, in front of his daughters. Later, he was charged with attempted murder and solicitation to commit murder.
Dino Guglielmelli Seemingly Leads a Private Life Since His Release
Several months later, in June 2014, Dino Guglielmelli pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted murder. As part of the deal, he was given a lesser sentence of nine years in prison, with his eligibility for parole scheduled for 2021. A couple of years later, in 2016, Dino requested that the court reduce the amount of family support that was originally filed in 2013. However, his request was denied by the court in late August 2016, and the court concluded that Dino owed about $1,223,000. In the summer of 2020, the convict also requested the court to get approval for child visitation. This request was also refused as the children didn’t live in California anymore and hadn’t seen him since the arrest.
That same year, on August 25, he lost his father, Emilio Guglielmelli Jr, who passed away on the family farm in the presence of his wife, Pauline. From what we can tell, Dino was released on parole in 2019. According to the court records, Dino appealed the judgment over the family law matter, claiming that he was denied his due process rights more than once during the proceedings that spanned over a decade. Meanwhile, Monica reportedly argued that he failed to support his claims with proper citations, making his arguments baseless. In the end, in early October 2024, while Dino’s request for sanctions was denied, Monica was reportedly awarded her costs on appeal. As far as his current whereabouts are concerned, Dino has been lying low on the public radar, indicating he prefers to stay out of the limelight.
