British writer-director Eran Creevy has locked in his first feature in eight years! Moviedelic can announce that the filmmaker will direct ‘The Florist’ next. The action movie will start shooting in Yorkshire, England, and Italy in September. The plot follows the titular assassin, who hides in plain sight as a flower shop owner. He is pursued by the CIA, who wants him to carry out an execution of an enemy of the state.
Creevy is known for his expertise in action and crime genres. The filmmaker’s last feature film was the crime thriller ‘Collide,’ released in 2016 and starring Anthony Hopkins, Felicity Jones, and Nicholas Hoult. His other credits include ‘Welcome to the Punch’ and his acclaimed feature film debut ‘Shifty,’ both of which established him as an in-demand talent in the industry.
Creevy recently made his television debut, helming two episodes of Guy Ritchie’s Netflix action series ‘The Gentlemen.’ Additionally, he is one of the directors of the highly anticipated reunion special ‘Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts.’ In addition to his movie and TV works, the filmmaker has directed several music videos and commercials. He is also involved in the writing of the upcoming series ‘The Killers,’ which will feature Nathalie Emmanuel and Omar Sy.
‘The Florist’ will utilize exotic Western European destinations, which are expected to suit its espionage backdrop and facilitate high-octane stunts, such as chase sequences and martial arts fights. Yorkshire is one of the leading entertainment production destinations in the United Kingdom, having hosted the filming of a plethora of projects such as ‘Peaky Blinders,’ ‘Downton Abbey,’ and ‘Secret Invasion.’
Italy, on the other hand, has been drawing international production crews for seemingly over a century for romantic, action, and historical projects. Some of the most influential franchises shot in the Bel Paese include multiple installments in ‘The Godfather,’ ‘Mission: Impossible,’ ‘Jason Bourne,’ and ‘James Bond’ franchises, as well as films like ‘Gladiator’ and ‘Tenet.’ Recent hits like ‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’ and ‘Dune: Part 2’ have also utilized the European country’s scenic landscapes.
