Evanna Lynch’s Influenced! Starts Filming in the UK and Italy in Q1 2024

The filming of Evanna Lynch-starrer ‘Influenced!’ is set to begin in the United Kingdom and Italy in the first quarter of 2024. The black comedy film is a modern take on Oscar Wilde’s 1891 novel ‘The Picture of Dorian Gray,’ and revolves around “Dora, a makeup sales assistant who goes on to become one of the world’s biggest influencers. But the more ruthless Dora becomes in her pursuit of insta-fame the more grotesque and distorted her social media profile photo also becomes,” as per the official logline.

The cast and crew will be heading to the UK and Italy to shoot the film. The UK has served as a filming location for several recent releases including ‘Barbie,’ ‘Heart of Stone,’ ‘Red, White & Royal Blue,’ ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,’ ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One,’ and ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.’ At the same time, Italy has hosted the filming of some major productions like ‘The Little Mermaid,’ ‘The Pope’s Exorcist,’ ‘Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny,’ ‘Fast X,’ ‘The Ritual Killer,’ and ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.’

‘Influenced!’ is written and directed by Nick Wild, who previously helmed the television film ‘MyBad!’ and served as a producer on Christopher Smith’s ‘The Banishing.’ The director described the film as his ‘passion project’ on which he has worked for several years. “Oscar Wilde’s themes of identity and self-image are still so relevant and, if anything, have been amplified by the current cultural obsession to show our validation and worth by how many followers you have and the face-filtered Instagram posts of your #bestlife,” the filmmaker said in a statement.

Evanna Lynch, who shot to fame with the portrayal of Luna Lovegood in the ‘Harry Potter’ film franchise, is set to appear as Dora in ‘Influenced!’ The actress also has a number of other acting credits to her name, including ‘My Name Is Emily,’ ‘Madness in the Method,’ and ‘G.B.F.’ She expressed her excitement about working in the film in a statement and said, “Nick has written a hilarious script that vividly illustrates the slow mental and moral degradation that befalls a person who loses sight of the line between reality and a filtered imaginary life.”

“With the algorithm always ten steps ahead, intuiting our next thought, ‘Influenced!’ is the story of an everyday trap that none of us can seem to avoid. I’m so excited to be playing Dora and to help bring this dark, interesting, and ominous story to life,” Lynch added. The rest of the cast associated with the project has not been announced yet. The film is produced by Djonny Chen of Silent D Pictures along with Lamia Nayeb-St. Hilaire.
