Is Bea Dead? What Happened to Her in Fall for Me?

In ‘Fall for Me,’ Bea enters the narrative as an intriguing character from the get-go. From her first appearance, an impromptu run-in with Lilli and Valeria, it remains evident that she has some sort of pre-existing relationship with the latter’s fiancé, Manu. Initially, the man seems adamant in painting the other woman as a crazy ex-girlfriend who has remained obsessed with him despite the end of their relationship. Nonetheless, Lilli has been suspicious of her sister’s partner ever since she landed in Mallorca, only to be greeted with the unexpected news of Valeria’s apparent engagement. Consequently, while the younger sister writes Bea off as an obsessed ex, the older sister is more open to hearing out her side of the story. However, once the woman’s account begins to influence the sister’s perception of Manu, his ex-girlfriend finds herself in a suspiciously dangerous predicament. SPOILERS AHEAD!

Bea Meets Her Demise in Her Hotel Room

Bea’s apparent relationship with Manu proves to be one of the most instrumental clues that allows Lilli to solve the overarching puzzle that Manu and his link to realtor Nick Unterwalt present. Although she takes notice of the woman early on, she doesn’t actively seek her out until she finds damning evidence of the other woman’s connection to Valeria’s fiancé. One of Bea’s earrings that she insists Manu bought for her seems to have been left behind in the finca that Lilli is currently living in. This gives credibility to the stranger’s words, which finally convinces the older sister to pursue her side of the story.

Thus, the truth about Manu emerges. As it turns out, the man was a serial scammer who lured women into seemingly picture-perfect relationships with him. Eventually, he would begin asking for financial favors, citing non-existent urgent family emergencies. Furthermore, he would also start influencing his partners to invest in buying out a finca, or an estate, to open their own bed & breakfast business. Usually, the finca in question tends to be the same one Lilli is staying in at the moment. However, what he doesn’t tell his victims is that the estate is strictly only a rental. Therefore, once the women handed over their money under the assumption that they were investing in their collective futures, Manu abandoned them, making off with the loot.

Although Lilli attempts to expose this same truth to Valeria, the latter remains too far entrenched in Manu’s wiles that she refuses to see the evident truth in front of her eyes. Nonetheless, slowly but surely, the validity of Bea’s experiences begins to sink in. The younger sister overhears her partner bragging about wooing women with the same old tactics and realizes that Bea and she share more in common than she would have liked. Yet, when Valeria tries to contact the other woman in hopes of further clarity, she only finds the woman dead in the bathtub of her own hotel room. When she alerts the authorities about the death, they seem content to write the incident off as a suicide.

Bea’s Death Remains an Unsolved Mystery With a Likely Suspect

Once Valeria discovers Bea’s dead body in the bathtub, she remains convinced that Manu had some hand in the woman’s death. The circumstances of her demise certainly point toward the possibility of a suicide, since she died by drowning in her own bathtub. Yet, there are several clues that point otherwise. For one, Valeria finds a half-packed suitcase on the woman’s bed after she enters the hotel room. The idea that a suicidal woman would pack up her stuff moments before orchestrating her own death seems ludicrous. Additionally, there’s also the fact that the hotel room door was ajar. If the death occurred due to elements confined within Bea’s room without any outside interference, there’s no reason for her room to be open and unlocked.

Consequently, all of these elements compel Valeria to believe Manu must be behind the murder. After all, he’s the only one who has something to gain from her passing. The man knows that his ex has been in conversation with her fiancé’s sister. He knows that Bea has undeniable ammo against him that could prove his dishonest and deceitful ways, at least to the sisters. As a result, this makes her dangerous for Manu’s plans, which involve duping the ancestral property from Valeria and her sister. Alternatively, since this is a central concern for Nick and his wife, Girasol, the latter of whom has admitted to solving her problems through less-than-legal channels, it’s also possible that they arranged for the assassination. Ultimately, although these explanations are evident for the characters, and subsequently the viewers, it remains unknown whether or not Bea’s death ever gets its due justice in the story.
