Farmer Wants a Wife Season 3 Episode 2 Recap: We’re Coming to Date Our Man

As Fox’s ‘Farmer Wants a Wife’ season 3 episode 2 kicks off, the journey of the four leading farmers to find love finally commences. The episode titled, ‘We’re Coming to Date Our Man’ sheds light on how the handsome men navigate their connection with their one chosen lady during the 24-hour date. After all, this time, they have more to go off on than just first impressions. Only time will reveal whether this will deemed the start of a fairy tale or if someone will end up going back home.

There is Anticipation as the Farmers Bring Their Dates to the Farm

The episode starts with Matt Warren returning to the farm with Jordan. He is excited since they had immediately connected during their first speed date. As they enter his home, Jordan takes in its beauty and asks him if he designed it. She reveals that although she lives in the city of Nashville, she has always wanted to reside in the countryside. Meanwhile, Jay Woods brings Grace to his granddad’s home and explains how this has been in their family for generations. He reveals how his family got the land back, and he is trying to restore it to its former glory. He then takes her for a tour around his farm, and when she gets scared of the chickens, he jokes that they can always make chicken soup. On the other hand, John Sansone arrives at his parents’ home with Samantha. She is completely enraptured by its beauty and slowly takes in her surroundings.

John notes that these 24 hours will be crucial to explore their connection. Similarly, Samantha admits she wants to see a different side of him, one which nobody likely ever does. As Colton Hendricks arrives at his property with Bailee Wallace, he proudly informs her that his house was built in 1875. He even shows his little boy’s picture to her, and she gushes over how cute he is. In his confessional, Colton hopes that their connection is not just surface level but something genuine. With just 24 hours on the clock, the farmers finally set out for their dates with their chosen lady. The focus is first on Jay, who takes Grace out for a special night in the football stadium. He wants to share his passion for this sport with her, all the while letting her know that he is serious about finding love. As they watch the game, Jay informs Grace that he used to be a defense player and was number one on his team.

Hence, Jay explains that he is very protective of those he cares about, and this makes Grace really happy. She can feel the spark between them, but she first wants to learn more about his goals and morals. As the noise subsides and the setting gets more romantic, Jay asks her about her dream. She reveals that she wants to get married, have a lot of kids, and raise them. After listening to this, he opens up about how his family has been his pillar through the darkest of times. So, when he hears her talking about wanting a family, it makes him happy. Similarly, his vulnerability touches Grace’s heart, and she is glad to see that at least one of their core values aligns. In a heartwarming moment, Jay gifts her a jersey with the number one on it, adding to her joy. He later even asks her to play with him before laying down the condition that whoever throws the ball the farthest will owe the other a surprise. As Jay fails, likely intentionally, he surprises her by leaning down for a passionate kiss, leaving her downright giddy.

The Farmers Gradually Get to Know Their Chosen Dates on a Deeper Level

Meanwhile, John sets out for his date with Samantha, knowing that she needs to come out of her comfort zone to embrace the experience fully. They reach their date spot after crossing through the water across the rugged terrain. As soon as they settle down, Samantha asks him what he meant during the selection when he called her a “challenge.” He explains that she is different from the other girls as she makes him do the work in terms of building their bond. It is then that he learns about her perception of loyalty and how she does not like having any competition. This confuses him, and when he asks her why she even agreed to partake in this experiment if she doesn’t handle competition well, Samantha cannot come up with an answer. Nevertheless, after more conversations, John leans in for a kiss, but she stops him. She reasons that she does not want to kiss on camera because there is still a chance he might not become her husband. Although John expresses that this was unexpected, he respects her boundaries.

On the other hand, Matt takes Jordan to one of his favorite quiet spots on his farm. He then asks her if she likes oysters because that’s what he has prepared for the date, she reveals that she has never tried one. However, she adds that she is ready to get out of her comfort zone. She later questions him about why he isn’t married yet, to which he honestly responds that he is quite picky. Yet, she completely agrees with his way of thinking because if you do not feel like you have met the one, it is not worth it. As Jordan tries out finger limes and oysters for the first time, she is delighted that she likes both of them. Matt notes that she is quite amazing, and he wants to keep spending time with her. He expresses his wish to take her home but also admits that he needs answers to some serious questions tonight.

As for Colton, he takes Bailee on a unique adventure across his ranch. The duo ride off on horses together and finally arrive at their date spot. As they get comfortable, Colton asks her about her familial life, and she reveals that she grew up in a dysfunctional environment. Although she prefers not to talk about it, she opens up to him, which brings them closer together. So, later on, he expresses his sentiments by gifting her a horseshoe with their initials on it, which leaves her feeling magical. As the night progresses, Matt and Jordan step into the hot tub to spend some quality time together. When he asks her if she is willing to give up her dream of music to move to the country, her answer truly impresses him. She says that although music is a huge part of her life, it is not everything to her. She expresses how serious she is about the experience, and if it is someone worthy, it will not matter. Both of them agree that it is going to get better for them from here. As the date nights come to an end, there is a sense of peace in the air.

The Farm Exploration Makes it Clear That Some Are Not Made For Rural Life

With the next day rolling in, all the ladies head to their farmer’s farm. Jay’s selected girls arrive at his farm and slowly notice the surroundings, only for him to be excited because he has never had five girls at his house. When T’yana asks him about the biggest danger on the farm, he reveals that it is snakes. This information leaves Vivian terrified. As soon as the other girls Colton had previously chosen reach his ranch, they are surprised as they didn’t expect Bailee and him to be holding hands this soon. Colton leads them to their room, stating that he has never wanted a big house before apologizing for the small space. Later on, when the girls ask Bailee if they have kissed, she starts blushing. Yet, this leaves Taylar unhappy, and she hopes that Colton will make an effort to get to know other people.

When the ladies arrive at Matt’s farm, he notes that dating five people will be challenging. As soon as Halleh steps out, she is in her element and says that as much as she loves the other girls, she is unafraid to showcase her spunk. She makes herself feel at home, Jordan feels that she is starting from the very bottom again. Halleh reveals that she will try to maintain Matt’s attention and will be bold in this journey. Meanwhile, as John welcomes the girls at the house, Samantha discloses her confidence because she feels that she and John have a connection. As the girls enjoy the view, Kayley states that she already feels the chemistry between her and John. Then comes the time for the farmers to see how well the ladies can do in their environment. At Colton’s Ranch, their task is to get their hands dirty by cleaning horse stools, and all of them jump into action as soon as he finishes directing them on how to do it.

However, Taylar is also observing him from a little distance, noticing that she has not developed any connection with Colton as compared to others. She wishes for him to show interest in her, and he does indeed come by her side shortly after, striking up a conversation. When he asks her if she has ever ridden a horse, she reveals that she actually has because her brother has 12 horses. As they converse more, she starts getting butterflies and really feels a spark. Colton also admits that she is a sweet girl, but adds that they do not have any common grounds or a strong bond. On the other hand, Jay takes the ladies out to his farm to give them a glimpse of his daily life. As soon as they see the cattle, T’yana drops food for them to bring them closer, impressing him. However, Julia notes that T’yana can be a lot sometimes and believes everyone feels the same way. Whereas, in reality, Jay thinks it is she who is having truble adapting to her surroundings and even remarks that she will probably not thrive in the farm life.

An Unexpected Letter Brings the Feeling of Dread Upon the Ladies

Matt takes his ladies to pick avocados and states that the one who harvests the most of them will get to drive back. In the meantime, Halleh is excited to build a connection with him as soon as possible. As Jordan notices this, she becomes unhappy and says it is hard for her to fight for someone’s attention because she has never done so. As they begin the activity, she notes that Chelsi is doing pretty well. As Chelsi drags her bag of avocados back, Matt jokingly remarks that she looks like Santa. He is also impressed that she is not afraid to get her hands dirty. The focus then shifts to John, who takes the girls to his grandfather’s farm and informs them that they will pick out weeds. He cleverly mentions that since there will be bugs, dust, and thorns, this will truly test their adaptable nature. As Kelly pulls a big weed out of the ground, she refers to it as therapeutic and notes that she is vibing with John.

As the day comes to an end, all the farmers receive a letter informing them that if they do not feel a romantic connection to one of the ladies, this will be their chance to send them home. This sets a grave mood throughout, and the girls realize that this is a brutal experience. Unable to bear the pressure, Kaylee breaks down because she is freaking out. She confides to the ladies that she has had heartbreaks in the past, so she is scared of getting her heart broken again. After a lot of time, she said, she finally felt excited about someone. The other women reassure her and urge her to talk to John. When she ultimately speaks with him, she explains that she feels the emotions deeply and does not want to leave the farm. As they return, John states he is happy to see this vulnerable side of her because it indicates she trusts him. The time for the most anticipated decision of the night has finally arrived.

John discloses that he has decided to keep all five of the ladies around. Similarly, at Jay’s farm, he announces that after careful consideration, he has decided that he will not be sending anyone away. Meanwhile, Matt also expresses his wish to get to know all 5 women better and says that they have just started having fun. However, things are not the same at Colton’s farm. He actually asks Taylar if she wants to talk to him alone for a little while, which excites her. During their conversation, she opens up to him and says that his eyes made her heart skip a bit during their speed date. He also compliments her, but then he adds that too much is happening in his head. As the suspense builds, the other girls sitting far away remark that they do not feel good about this. But alas, the episode concludes before we get to know what Colton actually decided.
