Fox’s ‘Farmer Wants a Wife’ proves that romance can thrive far beyond the city lights. The beloved dating series follows hardworking farmers as they search for lasting love with women willing to embrace country life and everything that comes with it. In Season 4, episode 2 titled ‘Ladies Coming in Hot!’, the host Kimberly Williams-Paisley returns to guide the emotional journey of the three farmers: Sean Cavanaugh, Brett Maverick, and Braden Pridemore. After an eventful premiere and careful choices, each farmer chooses one special lady to accompany him back home for a 24-hour solo date. Away from the competition and distractions, these one-on-one moments offer the pairs a rare chance to connect on a deeper level.
First Solo Dates Begin as the The Farmers Bring Their Chosen Ladies Home
The episode officially kicks off as Braden, Sean, and Brett arrive at their farms with Carsyn Hughes, Olivia Brown, and Cassi Ahrens, respectively. The first ones to arrive at his Homer, Illinois, farm are Braden and Carsyn. Since she is a city girl, she is shocked to learn that he may have to go 30 minutes up the road to reach his neighbor. In his confessional, Braden reveals that he takes pride in his farming lifestyle and wishes to carry on the legacy his father and grandfather built. He has been heartbroken before, which makes it important for him to find someone who understands his life. In Santa Ynez, California, Sean arrives at his family home with Olivia. He discloses that he is planning to marry and hopes to find a good girl he can fall in love with and settle down with.

Olivia quickly notes that the environment here matches her personality, and she can see herself living here. In Shiloh, Tennessee, Brett takes Cassi to his family’s old hunting cabin. He reveals that the cabin has been passed down through generations, and the 24-hour date is quite special since he has never brought any women here. Meanwhile, Sean has arranged a unique date with Olivia. He is eager to see whether she is as adventurous as he is, because it is a trait he seeks in his partner. After they enjoy ziplining together, Sean is impressed by how calm Olivia is about the adventure. However, he is worried because he doesn’t want any woman to fall for his beautiful property alone; he wants her to like him for who he is.
In the meantime, Braden and Carsyn buckle up for their first solo date at the rodeo. Shortly after, the farmer divulges that this is the first time he has brought a girl to a rodeo, and he hopes that she will fall in love with the community. Although Carsyn is happy to see Braden having fun like her, she wants to ask him about his unexpected decision to bring Lauren Cannizzo to the farm. Carsyn wants to understand what loyalty means to him, since Lauren wasn’t one of the original girls. When Carsyn finally asks Braden about that choice, he explains that he had asked Brett about Lauren, who told him to explore a connection if Braden felt it was there. Braden adds that he is willing to make mistakes to find his person and make the right choice, and the answer seems to reassure Carsyn.
Sparks Grow Stronger as Braden, Sean, and Brett Share Vulnerable Truths
Carsyn eventually asks Braden about his last relationship, prompting him to reveal that it was 9 months ago because his former partner didn’t want to live the life he did. Upon being asked, Carsyn admits that she likes what she has experienced so far and isn’t scared of the challenges. In his confessional, Braden states that he initially chose her because he felt there was a connection, but as time passes, he realizes how deep it is. The attention then shifts to Sean and Olivia, who settle in to sip wine beside each other. When she asks him if he has ever been in a serious relationship, he reveals that he wanted a faith-based partner, but his former girlfriend wasn’t willing to walk on that path. Olivia then opens up that she usually pulls back when she is put in such a position, but she is trying to remind herself that it is part of the process.

Sean and Olivia’s romantic date comes to an end as they share a loving kiss. While sharing his concerns, Sean explains he doesn’t want others to form misconceptions about him, as he is a hardworking person. He doesn’t want someone to fall in love with the house and his lifestyle. Olivia promptly reassures him that her end goal is to be financially free. She believes that friendship and meaningful conversations are necessary for a deep bond. After their date, Olivia feels that he checks all the boxes she wants, while he feels that she can be the one. Back at Brett’s farm, the farmer discloses that he wants to explore his connection with Cassi further. He wants to go with the flow since he is a romantic person at heart. Gradually, Brett tells Cassi that he wants to raise his kids in a good community.
After they reach the bonfire on their horses, Brett reveals that he doesn’t have the pressure of marriage because his brother and sister are already married and have kids. He continues that his family understands the importance of his finding the right person without rushing. Brett divulges that he often looks into people’s eyes because he can read them through their eyes. Looking at Cassi, he feels that she is a kind person. Despite their undeniable chemistry, Cassi observes that Brett’s love language is not physical touch. On the other hand, Brett thinks he probably will not kiss someone on the first date in the real world, but he hopes he will get the opportunity. At the end of the day, he is trying to get to know five ladies, and he wants to do it in the right way by developing an emotional bond before jumping into the physical aspect.
The Farmers Welcome Their Remaining Ladies With New Tasks on the Farms
As the 24-hour solo dates come to an end, it’s time for the rest of the ladies to arrive at their respective farms. In California, Emily, Carson, Macey, and Alibeth settle down and learn from Olivia that she and Sean had shared a kiss during their solo date. The information leaves Macey baffled since she didn’t expect that. Meanwhile, after arriving at Braden’s farm, Lauren notes that she made the right decision by choosing Braden over Brett. When his ladies finally enter the house, they are shocked to find his and Carsyn’s pictures from their first date on the fridge. In her confessional, Brittney reveals that she feels Carsyn is already ahead of her. The latter quickly observes that not everybody is excited about the pictures, but she is okay with it because she isn’t here to make friends.

At Sean’s farm, the farmer puts the ladies straight to work, instructing them to pick some fresh produce for his family’s restaurant. After dividing the produce-picking duties among the ladies, Sean says this will give him a good sense of how willing they are to live the farm lifestyle. Meanwhile, Macey reveals that she wants everything organic once she becomes a mother, which makes her excited to get her hands dirty. As Sean observes everyone, he notices that Alibeth is pretty nervous about this process, so he pulls her aside to make her feel more comfortable. A playful chase game between them leaves her feeling giddy. During their conversation, Sean asks Alibeth if she wants to ask him about deeper subjects. After an awkward pause, she inquires about the reason that led him to join the show.
Sean explains that it has been hard for him to find someone who can one day potentially be his wife. Hence, he thinks the show is the perfect opportunity for him to find that missing piece. After hearing his answer, Alibeth states that she is there for the same reason and admits that she is quite nervous. Sean feels that she is quite incredible, but their conversation was awkward. He wants a woman who is confident and knows what she is looking for. Sean wonders how it will work if Alibeth can’t get over her nerves. At Brett’s farm, the farmer puts his ladies to yard work as he plans to step back today and see who really stands out. In her confessional, Quinn divulges that her grandparents had a farm, which was the highlight of her childhood. She adds that they raised horses and cattle, which makes her interested in getting her hands dirty.
A Playful Farm Challenge Leads Braden to Doubt His Connection With Lauren
At Brett’s farm, Heather remarks that she feels odd to date a guy who is also dating four other ladies. The spotlight then falls on Braden’s farm, where he announces that his ladies must pick corn with a competitive twist. Since some of them belong to the city, he wants to see how they react when they get their hands dirty. After explaining their tasks, the farmer adds that they must divide into teams in order to pluck the most corn and win. Casey soon states that she is quite competitive and wants to show Braden that she is a hard worker, prompting her to team up with Cameron. On the other hand, Lauren decides to sit back and judge with Braden because she usually loves to observe. After noticing how incredible Brittney and Cameron are, Braden shifts his attention to Casey.

Braden realizes that Casey is competitive just like him, which makes him happy, but it isn’t the case with Lauren. After Casey’s team wins, the farmer notes that he needs to speak to Lauren. He needs to know if Lauren is here for the right reasons, and it is important for him to find the one. During the conversation, Braden directly asks her where she sees herself in 10 years. She states that this is her dream life because she has always wanted to live on a farm and raise her kids there. Lauren adds that she is an independent woman and isn’t afraid to hurt feelings by pretending to have a connection and wasting someone’s time. Despite hearing some of the right things from her, Braden feels that Lauren has many misconceptions about this lifestyle. He is trying to bond with her, but is unable to tell if there is any connection.
Tough Conversations Leave Braden Still Questioning Where His Heart Truly Lies
After everyone returns from work, the farmers receive a letter informing them that it is time to make a decision, as they may be struggling to connect with someone. Tonight at dinner, Brett, Sean, and Braden will have their first chance to say goodbye to one of their ladies, with whom they don’t see a future. As the farms prepare for dinner, Brett steals a quick moment with Quinn. After they share a fun moment together during their exchange, the farmer remarks that she has surprised him. Brett feels that his conversation with Quinn today was quite effortless, which is exactly how he expects it to go.

Meanwhile, when Sean reveals at the dinner table that the weight of the decision feels overwhelming to him, Carson quickly adds that the ladies aren’t worried about going home. Carson elaborates that, since most of them have spent only 24 hours with Sean, they are not deeply attached to him. The comment makes Sean wonder if Carson really wants to be here or is trying not to get hurt. When he pulls her aside and asks for clarification, she explains that, for her, attachment means wanting to do everything with him. Since she and Sean haven’t done anything together, she will get over the sadness quickly if he sends her back home, since she isn’t attached to him. Carson further clarifies that it is too soon for her to tell if they have the potential to get attached to one another.
Sean notes that Carson has truly challenged him, leaving him surprised. As the time for the big decision arrives, both Brett and Sean announce they have decided to keep everyone on the farm to further build their connections. During the dinner at Braden’s farm, Lauren notes that after today’s conversation with the farmer, she feels closer to him and definitely wants to stay on the farm. However, Braden is worried about her because he cannot figure her out. In this situation, he decides to peek into his heart and do what is right. Therefore, he asks Lauren to step outside with him for a conversation. It is yet to be seen if Braden truly sees a future with her or will end up letting her go.
