Fatal Seduction Season 2 Recap
As the second season begins, Nandi finds herself in prison, serving a sentence for which she was framed. The fact that her currently coma-ridden husband, Leonard, is a Judge certainly doesn’t make prison life any easier for her. As a result, she finds herself in a relationship with another convict, Phila, who keeps her safe within the prison walls. Naturally, once the latter’s parole comes around, the former professor loses out on this protection. Still, she has developed enough of an edge to defend herself from the most adverse of situations. However, it’s the things that happen beyond the prison that remain truly out of her control. Vuyo, Nandi’s brother-in-law and the man who framed her, is currently her daughter, Zee’s guardian. Furthermore, unbeknownst to the latter, he’s also her real biological father, a secret that remains the source of animosity between him and Zee’s parents.
Yet, the real trouble arises when Vuyo continues looking into Vilakazi and the death of her daughter, Busi, despite the politician’s clear threats. As a result, the Minister of Police targets Zee to strong-arm the cop into dropping his personal investigation. Once this inevitably finds the young woman laid up in the hospital, crying out for her mother, Vuyo pulls his strings and finally gets Nandi out of prison. Nonetheless, this doesn’t mean she’s out of the red yet. Now that the mother is out of the slammer, Vilakazi directly threatens her into getting Vuyo in line in order to save their daughter’s life. Still, as new evidence continues to unravel, the ex-cop finds it more and more difficult to drop the case. Things grow even more complicated when Phila, the obsessive prison girlfriend, is added into the mix around the same time that an amnesiac Leonard wakes from his months-long coma.
Meanwhile, Jacob moves in next door to Precious, Vilakazi’s personal assistant and frequent partner in crime. Through periodically manufactured coincidental run-ins, he manages to seduce the woman and earn her trust. Even though she knows he’s the son of Jiba, the man her boss framed for young Busi’s death, she isn’t aware of his active efforts to clear his father’s name. In the shadows, Jacob is working with Vuyo and a journalist named Yusuf. The trio is collecting evidence and information to reveal the menacing truth behind the picture-perfect front Vilakazi puts out in his politics. Eventually, after Nandi ruins their plan and Precious learns the truth about him, Jacob resorts to dire methods. The vengeful son kidnaps Vilakazi’s wife, Deli, and threatens to kill her unless the politician reveals the truth about his daughter’s death in a press conference.
Fatal Seduction Season 2 Ending: Who is Responsible For Busi’s Murder?
Busi’s murder has been a central mystery in the show from the very start. It’s the reason the story’s inciting event, Jacob and Nandi’s extramarital affair, takes place. Eleven years prior to the events of the show, the authorities found young Busi Vilakazi dead in the woods. At the time, Benjamin Jiba was convicted of the murder. Yet, the man maintained his innocence all the way up to the day he took his own life in front of his son. Consequently, the son, Jacob, became obsessed with uncovering the reality behind Busi’s murder and clearing his father’s tainted name. For the same reason, he targets Nandi, whose family was intimately interconnected with Busi’s murder. Her brother-in-law was the lead investigator on the case, while her husband was the prosecutor who led the charge against Jiba.
As a result, over the course of Jacob’s affair with Nandi, he’s able to gather some evidence that suggests Busi’s father, Minister Vilakazi, has been covering up the truth all this time. In the midst of it all, Jiba had become a convenient scapegoat. For the same reason, the wronged son begins working with Vuyo and Yusuf while playing Precious to get to the bottom of things. Yet, he soon realizes his sleuthing ways are no match for the politician who almost has him killed in order to silence him. Precious’ affection and moment of conscience are the only reasons he manages to survive at all. Therefore, in the end, he resorts to kidnapping and blackmail to procure his truth. Simultaneously, Vuyo manages to track down Ivy, a woman who might hold the key to everything.
Meanwhile, Vilakazi gears up for his own response and threatens Zee’s life to corner Nandi into saving Deli’s life. Ultimately, all of this culminates in a showdown at Jacob’s lair, where Vuyo finally reveals part of the truth. Ivy’s testimony reveals that which Jacob has always known to be the truth: Jiba did not kill Busi. Instead, it was Vilakazi’s driver, Precious’ father, who picked the young girl up from school on that fateful day. He was seeking revenge against his employer and kidnapped his daughter for the same reason. While Vuyo and the others believe this to be the entire truth, there is actually more to the story. Shortly after the driver kidnapped Busi, a young Precious managed to find the little girl. As a result, she tried to save her, which sent the two on a run into the woods with the driver hot on their tail. While hiding, the teenager grew too scared and accidentally tightened her grip on the young girl too much. Thus, she ended up suffocating Busi, who died on the spot.
Do Nandi and Jacob End up Together?
The criminal and political conspiracy of the story aside, the central plotline revolves around the magnetic relationship between Nandi and Jacob. Initially, taboo things like infidelity, an age gap, and the fact that the woman is the younger man’s professor present complications in the couple’s relationship. However, soon enough, these are replaced with Jacob’s obsessive nature and his exploitation of Nandi as a means to achieve vengeance for his father. Yet, while the young man’s motivations in pursuing the older woman remain duplicitous, he also truly falls in love with her over the course of their relationship. Likewise, the professor finds something unique in their passionate affair, which keeps her coming back to him. Still, she knows that her lover is one of the major reasons why her life has spiraled out of control.
Jacob’s revenge-fueled plans influence not only Nandi but also her daughter, Zee, whom the young man also manipulates and strings along for his benefit. Therefore, the mother knows that there’s no reliable future with the obsessive man, who seems to carry trouble around him like a second skin. Even so, in the aftermath, once Vilakazi’s lies are revealed to the public and life begins to calm down for Nandi, she once again finds herself gravitating toward Jacob. The duo spends one intense night together, rekindling their love and submitting themselves to the feverish attraction between them. However, in the morning, much to his devastation, his lover takes her exit. While it’s no secret that the physicality between the couple is unprecedented, she knows Jacob isn’t someone with whom she can build a life. Furthermore, his past with Zee ensures that the latter would never let her mother be a part of her life if he came along as a package deal. Thus, despite her feelings for Jacob, Nandi chooses her daughter, deciding not to pursue a relationship with the younger man.
Does Zinhle Die? Do She and Laura Get Back Together?
When Jacob takes Deli as his hostage, he unwittingly puts Zinhle’s life in danger. Since Vilakazi has had Vuyo and Nandi on his radar for a long time, he has established contingencies, namely a boy called Clinton, around the teenager. Fortunately enough, Zee’s relationship trouble with Laura arrives at the perfect time to allow Clinton to swoop in and establish a monopoly on the young woman’s company. Therefore, at Vilakazi’s command, he instantly brings Zee along for a night at the politician’s exclusive BDSM club. Through it all, the latter has no idea that her life is truly in danger. Eventually, the stakes get higher when Vilakazi gives Clinton a bag of coke. What the boy doesn’t know is that the drug he’s using is actually heroin, enough to send anyone into an overdose.
Inevitably, Clinton brings the heroin-disguised-as-cocaine to Zee, excited to partake in the indulgence together. While this unfolds, Nandi and Jacob rush to make it to the BDSM club. Moments ago, they had witnessed Deli commit suicide. As such, they know that it’s only a matter of time before Vilakazi makes his dangerous move. However, even after the pair manages to infiltrate the club, thanks to some distracting disguises, tracking Zee down remains a difficult task thanks to some distracting disguises. By the time Nandi manages to find her daughter, she has already passed out due to the drugs in her system. Fortunately, Jacob finds her minutes earlier and begins administering CPR to her. In the end, he manages to save Zee’s life, bringing her back from the edge of a tragic overdose. The aftermath inevitably finds her back at Laura’s door.
The duo has had more than its fair share of problems in the past. Initially, their well-established friendship comes in the way of the possibility of a romance. Nonetheless, after a short period of separation, Zee begins to realize she reciprocates her best friend’s feelings. Thus, as they reconnect, they eventually begin dating. Yet, things go south when Laura’s mother voices her apprehension about their relationship. The young woman had shared the details of her previous complications with her friend. The latter’s tendency to shut down in the face of trouble, something her family was prone to attracting, made it difficult for her partner to feel secure in their commitment. This uncomfortable conversation eventually leads to a breakup. Barely a day later, Zee finds herself in bed with Clinton, the one person she had told Laura not to worry about. As such, when she asks only one question of Zee about whether or not she slept with Lincoln, the latter decides to lie. This foundational lie allows the two girls to find their way back to one another. Yet, one can’t help but wonder how long such a relationship can truly last.
Why Did Vilakazi Frame Jiba For the Murder? Does Jaacob Clear His Father’s Name?
In the wake of Busi’s death, Vilakazi has no idea that Precious is truly to blame for the death. Instead, he targets her father as the murderer and beats him to death. After all, the latter man had kidnapped the young girl and had a history of violence, which serves as enough proof for the politician. Precious’ father and mother both work under Vilakazi’s employment. Eventually, they began bringing their daughter around the household, expecting her to help out. Nonetheless, 16-year-old Precious remains far more interested in forming a bond with Vilakazi than doing his housework. Rather than discouraging her behavior, the minister welcomes it and starts grooming her for his own sexual fantasies.
Once Ivy learns of the affair between her employer and her daughter, she tells her husband about the same. This is what compels him to kidnap Busi in the first place. Likewise, it’s also why Vilakazi is reluctant to reveal his driver as the real culprit behind his daughter’s murder. He knows that if such a connection is made in the public eye, it would only be a matter of time before his affair with a teenager would come to light. He believes the same, paired with Busi’s death, would be too much for Deli to bear. For the same reason, he ends up framing Jiba, an innocent man, for the murder, and goes to unbelievable lengths to keep the truth hidden. Nonetheless, in the wake of Deli’s suicide, Precious begins to realize that she has been another one of Vilakazi’s victims all this time. As a result, she tries to kill him, a job Nandi ultimately assists her with. Afterward, in her guilt, the young woman agrees to cooperate with the cops, divulging all of her boss’ secrets and wiping Jiba’s name clear in the process.
Who Frames Vuyo?
In the wake of Vilakazi’s death and Precious’ arrest, things begin to return to normal for the other character. However, Vuyo finds himself entrapped in an unexpected situation. The authorities come barging down his door to arrest him for the murder of Yusuf, the journalist. This remains suspicious since Leonard is actually the one responsible for that murder. Nonetheless, circumstantial evidence puts Vuyo at the scene of the crime with fingerprints all over the victim’s dead body. Therefore, it isn’t long before he’s unceremoniously imprisoned for the murder. Eventually, the reality of the matter dawns on him when Nandi pays him a visit in lock-up.
As it turns out, Nandi had used her newfound partnership with Precious to frame the ex-cop for Yusuf’s murder. The act is a blatant grasp for revenge since Vuyo had previously put her in an identical situation, framing her for Leonard’s attempted murder. Ultimately, Yusuf’s death proves to be an incredibly useful tool in Nandi’s arsenal. She also leverages it over her husband’s head to get him to quit his position as a corrupt judge. Since Leonard is the actual murderer, and his soon-to-be-ex-wife is in charge of re-arranging the facts, he has no choice but to comply. Similarly, she also strong-arms him to sign the divorce papers. As such, she finally frees herself from the dangerous men in her life, who have continued to bring her nothing but trouble.
What Happens to Precious? Does She Get Out of Prison?
Shortly after Vilakazi’s death, the authorities swarm the area and arrest Precious as the lead suspect. Since she carries much guilt about her involvement in Busi’s death and continued criminality with Vilakazi, the woman agrees to play ball and cooperates with the cops. While imprisoned, she reveals all of the secrets harbored by the politician, revealing the truth behind his otherwise spotless reputation. Furthermore, on the sidelines, she helps Nandi get her life back on track. The ex-professor had played a huge part in helping Precious realize the abuse that she had undergone in her time with Vilakazi.
For the same reason, she’s eager to help the other woman out. However, this ends up having unexpectedly fortunate results for Precious as well. Previously, while Nandi was in prison, Vuyo had procured some compromising photographs of a reputable prosecutor. These photographs helped speed up Nandi’s release from prison without even a trial. In the end, she shares these same photos with Precious, allowing her to use them to barter her own freedom. Ultimately, the latter sees her easy release from prison, allowing her a real shot at healing and finding a new beginning for herself.
