Netflix’s action comedy series, ‘FUBAR’, follows the adventures of Luke and Emma Brunner, a father-daughter duo who discover that they both have been working for the CIA. After an explosive first season, the series upped the ante with the second season, where the team faces imminent danger from the mysterious Dante Cress. While the third season has not been renewed so far, the excitement and the thrill delivered by the second season point towards a more hopeful outcome. However, considering that the first and the second season had a two-year gap between them, it wouldn’t be remiss to believe that the third season, if it is renewed, will not land on Netflix until 2027. Still, there is a lot of potential for the next season, and with what the Season 2 finale hints at, the next chapter could be even more exciting. SPOILERS AHEAD.
FUBAR Season 3 Could Take the Team to Russia
By the end of the second season, the threat of Dante Cress has been neutralised for good. This is a huge win for the team, but at the same time, they are still reeling from Tina’s betrayal. Barry, especially, is trying to come to terms with the fact that the Russian double agent never really loved him. But then, during the prison exchange, where the Russians demand Tina in exchange for the Dane, it is revealed that she had been feeding her bosses bad information all this time. This means that she actually cared about the team, even if she pretended not to when she was arrested.
This also means that now that she is in Russian custody, she is not safe. Her bosses will want her to pay for the betrayal, which means that it falls on Barry and the team to save her. But then, this means that they have to walk into enemy territory, and this enemy is much worse than the ones they have faced before, many because there is a lot more politics involved with this one. Seeing that Barry and Aldon are already reversing the car after finding out about Tina’s loyalty towards them, it is clear that the third season is going to focus on the team saving Tina.
FUBAR Season 3 Will See Emma Taking the Lead on Their Most Dangerous Mission Yet
Apart from the dangerous mission of stopping Dante Cress and saving the world, the second season also does a great job of character development. Every character goes through a journey that ends with them making the choices that will significantly impact their future. For example, Emma refuses to join Unit 9 of the CIA, even though this is something that she seemed to have wanted at the beginning of the season. In the same vein, Luke is ready to marry Tally again and has declared his retirement, but knowing him, we know that there is no such thing as the last mission.
Roo also experiences a major development. Now that she is the regional director, she has much more power and responsibility in her hands, and the third season will see her fitting into her role while she learns all the challenges of the job, particularly with the red tape, which she had been shielded from so far. Meanwhile, Tina, whose escape from Russia is expected to be a major plus point, will also have some very hard choices to make next season, and it would be interesting to see where the show takes her story next.
FUBAR Season 3 Will Introduce a New Antagonist
Despite all the violence and bloodshed they experience, the entire team of ‘FUBAR’ comes out pretty much unscathed from the events of Season 2. This means that the main cast, which includes Arnold Schwarzenegger (Luke), Monica Barbaro (Emma), Milan Carter (Barry), Fortune Feimster (Roo), and Travis Van Winkle (Aldon), are expected to reprise their roles, with Fabiana Udenio returning as Tally Brunner. Considering that the Dane is with Barry and Aldon in their car in the last scene, we assume that he will get embroiled in this mess as well, which means that we are going to see more of Adam Pally. We also expect Carrie-Anne Moss’ Greta to make a cameo, though it depends on a lot of moving factors. Still, Scott Thompson’s return as Dr. Pfeffer and Tom Arnold as Norm Carlson are more likely to reappear on the show.
While we will see a lot of familiar faces, the third season will introduce an entirely new set of villains. With Aparna Brielle’s Tina becoming the focus of next season, many Russian characters will enter the fold. This might include someone Luke has already crossed paths with, which means we might get to find out more about his career as a legendary secret agent. While no confirmation has been given about the new cast members, we expect some great set of characters to grace our screens and make the next season even more entertaining.
