GAF is set to inspire us connect with our roots! Moviedelic can reveal that the network has ordered the television film ‘Grounded.’ Louisville, Kentucky, will host the project’s production, which will commence on September 16. Ernie Barbarash is directing the TV movie with a script penned by Andrea Canning and Alex Wright.

‘Grounded’ follows Annie, who faces a turning point in her life when she is laid off from her airline job in New York City and ends her long-term relationship. Feeling adrift, she returns to her rural hometown in Kentucky to reconnect with her aging grandmother. As she settles back into the close-knit community, she unexpectedly rekindles feelings for her high school sweetheart. This fresh perspective on her roots and relationships prompts her to reevaluate her life choices and reassess what she truly desires for her future.

Barbarash is also directing ‘Aurora Christmas,’ in which a charming local guide introduces a visiting author to the picturesque beauty of a small town and its mesmerizing Northern Lights during the holiday season. His recent credits include GAF’s ‘The Jinglebell Jubilee,’ a film about a city manager who enlists a childhood friend to fix a Christmas charity event while the latter tries to set him up with her close companion. The movie stars Erin Agostino and Marshall Williams.

Barbarash also helmed ‘I’m Glad It’s Christmas,’ an endearing tale in which Cora works to unite Holly, an aspiring Broadway performer, and Jason, a single father and jingle writer, for a town’s festive concert. In addition to his Christmas film ventures, the filmmaker also served as a producer of the iconic film ‘American Psycho.’

Canning’s most recent project is ‘A Merry Scottish Christmas,’ a heartfelt tale about estranged siblings Lindsay and Brad who travel to Scotland for Christmas to reconcile with their mother, Jo. The screenwriter also penned Hallmark’s ‘A Paris Proposal,’ directed by Jessica Harmon. This film centers on Anna and Sebastian, co-workers who are mistakenly thought to be a couple by a major client, forcing them to maintain the ruse.

Canning’s previous writing credits include ‘The Perfect Wedding’ and ‘Was I Really Kidnapped?’ In addition to her writing achievements, she has appeared in ‘Ruby Herring Mysteries: Prediction Murder’ and ‘Ruby Herring Mysteries: Her Last Breath.’

Recent projects that took advantage of Louisville’s unique backdrop include ‘Something’s Brewing’ and ‘Just for Showmance.’
