Gerald Wayne Conner’s Daughter Alleged He Was Physically and Sexually Abusive Towards Her and Sam
Gerald Wayne Conner was married to Sam, and together they welcomed a daughter, Lisa Conner, in Miami, Florida. On the show, Lisa alleged that Gerald exhibited abusive behavior towards his wife and daughter. Growing up, she had a furry little friend named Toby, who was also a part of their family. She also recalled an incident in which Toby once intervened during a confrontation with her father, adding that the dog later went missing and was never seen again. In the show, grown-up Lisa claimed that Gerald had killed the family pet for going against him. In the documentary, Lisa alleged she witnessed her father frequently physically assault her mother, which she said deeply traumatized her in many ways.

When Sam became pregnant with another daughter, she and Lisa hoped that Gerald’s alleged abuse would come to a halt. However, despite the pregnancy, Lisa claimed that he continued the beatings, which allegedly resulted in a miscarriage. According to Lisa, her father also sexually abused her a couple of times when Sam wasn’t at home. When Lisa was seven years old, her mother got pregnant again, this time with a boy. After the birth of his son, Gerald showed love and care for him, and things started looking up for Lisa and Sam.
Gerald Wayne Conner Was Brought to Justice For Aggravated Battery Against His Wife
As per Lisa’s accounts, Gerald Wayne Conner had a drinking habit, and it led to a life-altering situation on September 3, 1984. While he was spending his paycheck at the bar, his wife, Sam, went on a drive with her kids to look for him. Upon finding him, a heated argument erupted between the couple. According to witness accounts and court records presented in the documentary, Gerald got into the driver’s seat before Sam and crushed her between the car and the wall, accelerating the vehicle despite bystanders pleading with him to stop. After the incident, Sam was rushed to the hospital, and Gerald was arrested. She lost both her legs and went through about 40 surgeries in the span of two years.

Eventually, Gerald was convicted of aggravated battery and sentenced to two decades in prison. However, he served less than five years and was released from prison by Christmas 1989. A few months later, he began seeing Sam again, who believed that he was a changed man. At her graduation, Lisa’s excitement and happiness were overshadowed when she noticed her father, Gerald, in the crowd. A few years later, he reportedly passed away from a heart attack in his sleep. On the show, Lisa expressed that she believes his death was unfair, stating he didn’t deserve to die peacefully after traumatizing her and her mother for years.
