Is Ginny Pregnant in Ginny & Georgia?

The third season of Netflix’s ‘Ginny & Georgia’ upends the lives of the Miller family after Georgia is arrested for the murder of Tom Fuller. To turn the case against her, the prosecution brings in her past, which has more murders and violence, and as the days pass, the possibility of Georgia spending the rest of her life in prison becomes more real by the minute. This throws Ginny into a state of distress, and as she tries to find comfort somewhere else, she lands in a very precarious position, which could completely change the direction of her life. SPOILERS AHEAD.

Ginny’s Pregnancy Catches Everyone Off Guard

When Ginny’s relationship with Marcus does not progress to the next level, she finds romance somewhere else. At her poetry class, where she introduced herself as Gia, she meets a guy named Wolfe who is exactly what she needs at the moment. He doesn’t know anything about her and Georgia’s trial, or even her past, and she can tell him whatever she wants and keep things she doesn’t want to talk about. Her relationship with Wolfe progresses rapidly, even after he finds out that she is Ginny, not Gia.

When Ginny is taken away by the social services and placed under her father’s care, she starts to lash out at him for tearing her away from her mother. Her rebellions surface in sneaking out of the house and not returning until late at night. She spends this time with Wolfe, and when her father wonders if they are having sex, she decides to do it just to spite him. At a party, she has sex with Wolfe, and at first, it doesn’t seem like a big deal. But then, she discovers that she is pregnant, and that changes everything.

Scared and unsure of her next steps, she seeks out Wolfe and tells him the truth. However, he is caught off guard and doesn’t know how to respond. Instead of talking to her about it and showing his support, he finds an excuse to leave. This hurts Ginny even more because she believes Wolfe is better than that. In any case, his response makes it clear that she is not going to be with him anymore, but that still leaves the question of the pregnancy.

Georgia Advises Ginny to Do the Right Thing

The only person that Ginny can turn to is Georgia, who tells her that she can keep the baby if she wants to, but is advised against it. Georgia tells her daughter that she is too young to take over the responsibility of a baby, and while she, too, had Ginny around the same age, things were much different for her at the time. She assures her that she will support her if she chooses to have the baby, but at the same time, Ginny must also think about the fact that her life is just beginning, and with the responsibility of a baby at such age, she will not be able to achieve the things that she wants.

Georgia’s words convince Ginny that her choice to get an abortion is right. Because it is such a big thing, she wanted to talk to her mother about it, and once she does, she feels a weight lift from her shoulders. Georgia gets an abortion appointment, and it turns out that her daughter can see the doctor the same evening. Because Georgia is on house arrest, Wolfe still hasn’t called back, and there is no one else with whom Ginny can talk about this, so she decides to go to the clinic by herself. However, Georgia knows how important it is to have some support at such a time, so she asks Marcus to get Ginny from the hospital.

By the time Marcus reaches the hospital, Ginny has already taken the pills and gone through with the abortion. He takes her back to Georgia, who comforts her while she suffers the pain after the procedure. But at least, Georgia says, this is highly temporary, as she would have a much greater pain (physical, mental, and emotional) if she decided not to terminate the pregnancy. In any case, it wouldn’t have made sense for her to have a baby with a guy she barely knows, so at the end of the day, it turns out to be the right decision.
