Striving to build a better world rooted in authenticity, empathy, and connection is no longer just a concept, but also a mission for many modern brands. Good Quality Human is one of them, and it has turned the ideology into their passion. Their streetwear products center around the philosophy of embracing one’s flaws and building a community through vulnerability and inspiration. The brand is led by the founders, Michole Kemp McBroom and Ishaan Bahri, who appeared on season 1 episode 7 of Fox’s ‘The Fixer.’ It highlights their mission and how they wanted assistance from the entrepreneur and investor Marcus Lemonis to grow their business further.
Good Quality Human: Who Are They and What Do They Do?
Before launching the lifestyle brand, Michole Kemp McBroom earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Management from California State University, Northridge in 1993. She entered the professional world in November 2003 by becoming the founder of Ladies First Fitness and Spa, a wellness space to improve women’s physical and mental health. She further expanded her journey in April 2014 as the CEO and owner of the Camp Transformation Center. She was working in both these roles when, during the pandemic in 2021, the idea of Good Quality Human began to take shape in Malibu, California. She was joined by Ishaan Bahri, whom she had previously dated for around 7 years. Both shared a realization that humans always have flaws and that everyone is doing their best.
Hence, Michole and Ishaan wanted to foster a community where this truth was accepted and celebrated. That led to the creation of Good Quality Human in February 2021, and they emerged as the brand’s founders. Ishaan earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland. However, his career began as an Independent Producer for Conscience VC in July 2011, a role he continues to hold to this day. Simultaneously, he works as the founder and visionary behind the designs of Good Quality Human. Looking to expand their business, Michole and Ishaan appeared on the show, seeking strategic guidance from Marcus. During their pitch, they shared the brand’s impressive financial growth from the revenue of $280,000 in 2023 to $1.1 million in 2024.
When Marcus dug deeper, he found that Good Quality Human had used some trademark designs from other brands, raising red flags about intellectual property. He also found logistical gaps, like no proper warehouse or organized inventory system. So, he focused on strengthening the backend by helping the founders secure warehouse space, improve distribution, and the manufacturing process. Moreover, the investor urged Ishaan to create a wider variety of new and original collections. Marcus then addressed a complicated personal dynamic between the founders, owing to their past relationship. Ultimately, he introduced them to the brand, Anderson Brothers, and offered a $75,000 line of credit at that venture with no equity exchange. However, he wanted a 7% interest with $1 profit per item sold perpetually, which they could cancel anytime.
Since it was a fair deal, Michole and Ishaan happily accepted it, walking away with clarity and direction. Good Quality Human has three main streetwear products: t-shirts, hats, and hoodies. Their t-shirts are made from premium garment-dyed cotton to give customers a soft and relaxed feel. They are also pre-shrunk to ensure minimum shrinkage upon washing. The brand’s hoodies are created from ultra-soft fleece, providing customers with a relaxed fit for everyday wear. These hoodies are available with both zip-up and pullover styles. The hats feature bold embroidery, adjustable back straps, and a structured crown to ensure the user feels comfortable while wearing them. They are made of 65% polyester, 35% cotton, and can easily be cleaned with distilled soapy water.
Good Quality Human: Where Are They Now?
After receiving Marcus’ guidance on the show, Good Quality Human has gained momentum and expanded their business. In the earliest days, Ishaan and Michole obtained a street vendor’s permit and sold their products from a mobile retail truck, much like a food truck. Currently, they continue to operate that store in Venice, California, opening the shop Friday to Saturday from 12 noon to 5 pm. However, by May 2025, they successfully opened their retail space in Westfield Century City Mall in Los Angeles, California. Beyond these two locations, customers can shop their collections on the official website, featuring signature pieces: hats, t-shirts, and hoodies. Their hat collection has options like Beanies, Dad Hats, and Trucker Hats. Individuals can choose a variety of colors and designs based on their preference. The Beanies can be easily purchased for just $39.
While the Dad Hats are available for $49 and $59, the Trucker Hats are usually priced at $49. The T-shirts of Good Quality Human, known for their unisex fit, can be purchased for $59, and the price for the Hoodies is either $135 or $195. They offer two products in the Made in USA collection: a Good Quality Human Crew at $135 and the brand’s pullover hoodie at $195. In their GQH collection, customers can find their signature products, socks, and even tote bags. The socks can be bought for $19 and are available in black and white. The brand’s Tote Bags feature the Los Angeles and Malibu tag, each priced at $30. Beyond that, visitors to the website can also go through the blog page, which is filled with fashion inspiration and lifestyle tips. Customers can buy gift cards starting at $25, which are also customizable.
Loyal customers can also join the Good Deeds Collective. This membership program offers rewards and perks like points, free shipping, a birthday reward, periodic early access to new collections, and weekly contests. The program is divided into three tiers: Good Vibes (o-300 points), Good Karma (301-1500 points), and Good Energy (1500+ points). The brand has an Ambassador program for creators and changemakers, helping them earn 10% commission on every sale they bring, excluding tax and shipping. Good Quality Human offers wholesale options for retailers with a minimum bulk order of 48 pieces. In November 2023, the brand partnered with a non-profit organization, One Tree Planted, at the ComplexCon in Las Vegas, Nevada. They pledged to plant a tree for every hat they sold there, which helped them contribute to planting 400 trees.
In December 2023, Good Quality Human was featured in the Los Angeles Times’ physical paper and partnered with Covenant House California to donate hats to underprivileged youth for the holidays. In June 2024, they attended Freeform’s grown-ish event and engaged with a new generation of creators. Later that November, the brand again united with Covenant House California, along with Mitchell & Ness, to host a hat design workshop for young adults. In January 2025, during the Wildfires in Los Angeles, California, they stepped up and designed two special edition hats, donating the entirety of their profits to the organization, Habitat LA. They have also collaborated with Blow Me Candle Co. in May 2025. In the following month, the brand even joined The Venice Fest, where they were featured in a segment of KTLA 5 News. From small beginnings to mall storefronts, Good Quality Human is truly thriving in their business.
