The partnership between Hallmark and Jeff Beesley continues to thrive! Moviedelic can reveal that the network has ordered the filmmaker’s television film ‘Following Yonder Years.’ The project’s filming will start in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on October 1 and conclude on October 25.
The plot follows Abby Marshall, an actress who has found fame and success playing Gabriella, a beloved character on the hit TV series ‘Guiding Grace.’ Gabriella is wise and selfless and always has the right words for anyone in need. However, after years of embodying this idealized role, Abby starts to feel the weight of living up to the unrealistic expectations the world now places on her. When a misunderstanding leads to a media scandal, the actress steps away from the spotlight and escapes to a quiet ski town in Vermont to reevaluate her career and life.
As the narrative progresses, Abby finds refuge at a charming bed and breakfast run by Tom, a kindhearted innkeeper, in Vermont. She gradually gets involved in the local community, particularly at the town’s church, where Tom is struggling to take over as the director of the Christmas pageant after his wife’s passing. The actress volunteers to help with the pageant, and through this experience, she starts to consider new directions her life could take. With the encouragement of Tom, his daughter Kat, and the close-knit town, Abby embarks on a journey of self-discovery, ultimately realizing what truly matters to her in life and finding the answers to the mysteries of her own heart.
Beesley is a regular collaborator of Hallmark. He most recently helmed ‘Miracle in Bethlehem, PA,’ in which a woman named Mary Ann (Laura Vandervoort) adopts a baby just before Christmas and, due to severe weather, ends up stranded in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, with no place to stay except the home of the innkeeper’s brother, Joe. Last year, he also directed ‘The Santa Summit,’ a festive film about three teachers who rekindle joy and find love during a Santa-themed event. In 2023, Beesley directed two other romantic comedies for Hallmark: ‘Never Been Chris’d’ and ‘Made for Each Other.’
Winnipeg, Manitoba, serves as the base for Beesley, who has shot multiple projects in the area. His previous Hallmark films, including ‘Miracle in Bethlehem, PA’ and ‘Pumpkin Everything,’ were also filmed in the city.
