The David I. Strasser directorial, Hallmark’s ‘The Wish Swap,’ revolves around the serendipitous meet-up and romance between a charming man and a beautiful woman. Casey and Henry are two strangers who only seem to have their birthdays in common. As they celebrate the occasion at the same restaurant, they make their respective wishes at the same time as well, which are granted but there’s a catch. Their birthday wishes are swapped, forcing them to meet and, eventually, get to know each other. In the process, they realize that they need to join forces and help each other out to get their wishes swapped to their right places. The heartwarming tale of love is brought to life against a visually appealing canvas.
Where Was The Wish Swap Filmed?
‘The Wish Swap’ was filmed in its entirety in British Columbia, particularly across different regions within Greater Vancouver. As per reports, principal photography for the rom-com movie got underway in November 2024 and wrapped up after a few weeks in December of the same year. All the cast and crew members appeared to have enjoyed their time on set and took home loads of fond and happy memories from the shoot.

For the purpose of filming, the cast and crew of ‘The Wish Swap’ visited several locations in Greater Vancouver, British Columbia. In particular, the city of Maple Ridge in the northeastern part of the region served as a shooting site for the Hallmark film. A few scenes were lensed at Chameleon Restaurant, located at 11965 224 Street. The popular restobar is a local favorite for its delectable farm-to-table cuisine and cocktails. Known for its wide array of regional craft beers and well-seasoned wood-oven pizzas, Witchcraft Beer Market and Bistro at 22648 Dewdney Trunk Road is also one of the sites where some scenes of the David I. Strasser directorial were captured. There are many factors that make Maple Ridge a perfect backdrop to narrate the romantic tale of Casey and Henry.
Cradled between the Fraser River and the Golden Ears, it is widely beloved for its scenic beauty and cultural diversity. From the majestic mountains to the tranquil water bodies to picturesque local spots, the city has it all. Having said that, it also maintains a balance between the old and new worlds, and its neighborhoods — which display a blend of rustic charm and contemporary luxury — are a testament to that. According to reports, a minor portion of ‘The Wish Swap’ was also taped in Vancouver, which also serves as Metro Vancouver’s major urban center. Emily Tennant and Jake Foy bring the beautiful tale of Casey and Jake to life. Emily stepped into the world of entertainment when she was just 10 years old and has garnered immense acting experience over the years, which she puts on full display in the film. On the other hand, Jake is a multi-talented personality who has also dabbled in the world of theater as well as donned the hat of a director (for short films) and producer.

With over 100 titles and 20 years of experience in the world of film and TV, Emily Tennant dons the garb of Casey, the free-spirited lead of the Hallmark film. She is widely recognized for her performance as The Beast in ‘Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency,’ Madison in ‘Influencer,’ and Ivy Young in ‘Mr. Young.’ Alongside that, Emily has also established herself as a voice actor, especially by getting nominated for a Leo Award for Best Performance in an Animation Series for voicing the titular character in ‘Polly Pocket.’ Her other popular credits include ‘All I Need for Christmas,’ ‘Holiday Hotline,’ ‘A Kindhearted Christmas,’ ‘A Picture Perfect Wedding,’ ‘Kingdom Hospital,’ ‘The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants,’ ‘Cedar Cove,’ ‘Riverdale,’ and ‘The Watchful Eye.’

Jake Foy essays the character of the whipsmart Henry. He gained prominence for his portrayal of Felix Silva in ‘Designated Survivor,’ USSE Bridge Crew Officer in ‘Star Trek Beyond,’ Mr. Justin Douglas in ‘Sidelined: The QB and Me,’ Tuff McMurray in ‘Ride,’ and Deejay in ‘When Christmas Was Young.’ Jake has also made appearances in ‘In the Dark,’ ‘Murdoch Mysteries.’ ‘Love in Store,’ ‘Allegiance,’ ‘Wilderness,’ and ‘Eat, Drink and be Married.’
The film also features ‘Three Wise Men and a Baby’ and ‘Turner & Hooch’ star Matt Hamilton as Simon. While Nathan Witte appears as Spencer, Jason Fernandes stars as Peter and Molly Saunders plays the role of Charlotte.
