Netflix’s reality competition show, ‘Million Dollar Secret,’ introduces viewers to a high-stakes game that is wholly based on deception and strategy. It presents 12 formidable players in the limelight who have arrived from different walks of life. Among them, the 59-year-old photographer Harry Donenfeld has been one of the most notable. Throughout the competition, he has shown incredible observational skills. His ability to maintain strong connections with his fellow contestants continuously set him apart. From the moment Harry Donenfeld stepped into the mansion, he was very confident. Due to his profession, he had spent years honing the skills of understanding the facial expressions of individuals. He took pride in the fact that no secret could slip him due to this. During his first breakfast, he revealed a piece of his Hawaiian roots, sharing a tradition where people hold hands before meals. However, it soon came to light that trust is fragile in the game. Even a small, meaningful gesture could be misinterpreted. However, when she found herself in danger of elimination, she made a desperate move by throwing him under the bus. His innocent hand-holding tradition ultimately was twisted into an agenda. When Harry found out about this, he tried to explain that this was just a tradition and nothing more. However, the damage was already done, and he was voted as “The Millionaire.” When he finally opened his box, it turned out to be empty, and everyone was shocked. He smiled and bid goodbye to everyone, but being the first to leave the show hurt him. Despite everything, Harry was proud that he had never deceived anyone but felt disappointed that no one could see his honesty.

Harry’s career is the biggest example of his deep passion for storytelling and visual artistry. He completed his higher education at Hawaii Pacific University in 1993 and was drawn to the world of media and entertainment based on his zeal to make a mark in the industry. His professional journey began in 1998 when he stepped into the role of Vice President at Station X Entertainment, INC. Although his time here was brief, and he worked there until 1999, it became a very important milestone in his profession. The role exposed him to the fast-paced world of production and media management. The following year, he took on the role of Executive Producer at Thank You TV, INC. Here, he truly improved his skills for 11 years and dedicated himself to creating impactful content until 2011.
In August of the same year, Harry finally transitioned into a new chapter of his career when he joined the Maui County Film Office as a Film commissioner. He served in this role until September 2013 and moved on to become the President and Executive Producer of Aloha Ariels, LLC. This venture helped him to blend his passion for storytelling with cinematography. Here, he is involved in education and training, as well as providing top tire equipment and services. However, Harry is not someone who would stop pushing his creative boundaries. Hence, he took a bold step in June 2024 and founded Kahu Media Group. This entrepreneurial endeavor focuses on broadcast media, especially through Maui TV. These have further made his position quite prominent in the industry.
Harry is an Exceptional Photographer With Expertise in Natural Photography
Harry has always taken pride in his Photography skills. As the grandson of the publisher of the Superman Comic Book, his love for photography came quite naturally. This soon evolved into his interest in videography when he eventually ventured into production. His most notable works in the field include ‘Alien Invasion Week 2001’ and ‘Bingo and Molly,’ which was an award-winning show for children. He has also worked in different one-off documentaries like ‘Black Widow II: Declassified.’ His career in photography has been quite commendable since his clicked images have been featured in multiple magazines, publications, newspapers, and ad campaigns over the years.
Harry also had his own photo gallery in Lahaina for a very short period of time before he further ventured into production. He also has a specialty in shooting underwater videos and has gained over 20 years of experience in the field. His underwater videos have been used in different documentaries and websites. He has also embarked on a scuba-diving journey to Antarctica in 2021 to capture unique moments from the location. On his personal website, he showcases his photography skills and provides glimpses into his professional life. His Kahu media group has been co-producing the first show, ‘Singing and Sailing with Eric Gilliom,’ along with Malamalama Productions. The production started on the 28th of July in 2024, marking another major milestone in his life.
Harry is a Comic Book Enthusiast and is Living a Serene Life With His Pets
Beyond his work in media, Harry is a huge comic book fan. For him, it is more than just entertainment. Rather, it is an art form and a powerful medium of storytelling for him. Even as he pursued a career in media, his love for comics has never really subsided. On his social media, he often shares his opinions on comic books. When he is faced with the question of whether he likes DC or Marvel better, he expresses that he might love DC a little bit more. His love for comic books is also quite evident from his visits to Maui Comic-con, where he enjoyed himself with his fellow comic fandom.
Apart from this, Harry’s personal life is filled with joy, and he lives a quieter and more grounded life surrounded by his beloved pets. He has three adorable goats named Theodore, Teddy, and Hoku, besides his adorable furry pup Birdie. He presently resides in Makawao, Hawaii, and often shares glimpses of this serene side of his life, giving his followers a sneak peek into his world beyond the lens. From sharing the mischievous personality of his goats to capturing the shenanigans of his Birdie, he makes it quite evident that he adores them. For Harry, they are more than just pets; they are a huge part of his life story. As of now, he has kept further details about his personal life away from the public eye, but we believe that he continues to thrive in his fulfilling life.
